Damn... good bit of damage in Bessemer: Visionland, businesses along Academy Drive, Carraway Hospital. Not sure of the outlet malls yet.

Storm Report from the Parrotheader Severe Weather Shelter:

Temperature - 74 degrees
Wind - 15mph gusts
Rain - lots
Wife - tired and wanting to go to sleep
Dog - happy, playing frisbee and passing gas
Beer - cold
Parrotheader - thinking we might be going upstairs soon since it looks to be well south of us now.

Aves just wrote me to tell me that he's in a safe place and that he's okay. :):)

I just hope that it stays that way. :(

Ok forums have been down for me but now working again. No one will no the true extent of the damage until tommorrow, but right now 7 confirmed fatalities and at least 50 injuries. In the morning I would expect those numbers(at least injuries to rise). My hat is off to the NWS and ABC 33/40 for their awesome forecasting and warnings and I know they saved many lives.

I agree! They did a great job. Everyone had plenty of warning. :)

Thanks to you also for keeping us updated. :)

It got crazy here for a while, tons of lightning and thunder, rain, golf ball sized and bigger hail and we may have spotted a tornado that was still in the clouds near Oxford but can't be sure.

7? :(

I have waited until all warnings have cleared my area to respond. For at least seven people(more than likely many more) last night was the end of the world. Please think of things like that before you post. It doesn't reflect well on you.

Hoping they are OK.

I haven't heard from them, but they are not far from me and no damage was reported in my area. They have family in town so they may be with them. I would be 99% sure that everything is alright with them.
