I just checked out weather.com and they have a blurb here and there. The Weather channel used to very good at reporting situations like this but now they just suck.

Our thoughts are with everybody down there tonight.

Yeah I was just flipping through to the weather channel a little while ago and they had something on with Dutch windmills? Flipped back 15 minutes later and it was the same thing. Ummmm . . . yeah. Ok. I realize that local stations are going to be the main sources for severe weather (our guys here in Birmingham are very good IMO) but you think they'd at least make a bit more effort to report this storm system given that's covering nearly the entire eastern portion of the Central time zone in the US.

If I'm remembering correctly, I think Mrs. Skoorb was actually looking forward to moving down here so she could see what tornados are like (although they get them occasionally where they used to live in Huntsville.) Looks like she's getting a taste of it tonight although the worst of it looks to be past them now. What sucks is you can't really see them coming here like you can out in the plains states due to all the trees we have here.

Cullman County EMA reports widespread damage from at least 2 different tornadoes. Several injures, no exact numbers.

Area of damage a "swath from city of Cullman to Blount County line". :(

Our server's still up and running up at our office in Homewood. And my boss (near downtown Homewood) is still on AIM. I'm actually surprised to see both still online.

It's about to be our turn here in Anniston. Not sure how bad it's gonna be. Maybe it'll miss us.

More than likely it was a F2... very large but not quite as big as a F3-F5...

Touchdown in Homewood confirmed by police.

My boss is a total digital photography freak. I have no doubt he'll be trolling around Homewood taking photos shortly if he ever gets off AIM.

Jeez it's NEVER going to get here and I'm just south of you guys. I guess my 'rain, rain go away' dance is working. ;)

J/K. I know we're up next although hopefully things will weaken a bit before the FINALLY get here. I just wish it would hurry up and get it over with.

Appears that everything north of I-20 is clear. With that, I'm going to go to bed now.

It's been a horrible day. Good night. :(

My 'safe place' is in our basement staring out the garage window while my wife and dog are in the corner with her yelling at me "get away from the window!" :) I can' t help it. I find severe weather fascinating.

Speaking of 'safe place's, I'm going to mozy on downstairs to ours now as the bottom just fell out and there's a tornado on radar heading our way. Fortunately I've got a TV and computer on a UPS down there. Aloha.
