I might have figured it out. There are actually 2 places to put in those nameservers, I think I put it in the wrong one. Thanks anyways.

There's only 1 place to put your custom name servers. If you are a RippleHost customer your name servers should be:
ns1.ripplehost.com
ns2.ripplehost.com

Unless otherwise noted in your "welcome" e-mail. If you're using NameCheap and just updated today, it should be working by tomorrow morning.

Hey Rossman, I got the site to work, BUT the absolute genius that I am, I think I screwed up the MySQL database royally. Is there anyway for me to reset the database to default before I started screwing with it? I posted this in the Ripple general support forum but no response yet. I appreciate any help you can offer. Thanks-DaK

Good luck with getting any tech support with RippleHost (you are after all only paying $5/yr).

My suggestion is to DELETE the database file and start over from scratch.

Yeah, I did that. When I go to setup a new one I get considerable amounts of errors. Both Perl and PHP saying it can't connect to the database. Any suggestions?

Does this come with ecomerce and forums? I looked around their site but didn't see anything about either of those? I was looking at ripplehost.com where is this $10 for 6 months with all of those features?

My group just did a class project which we need to host.

I wanted to know does Ripple host provide SSL services, since our professor said our site was not secure even though we had session variables with the login, etc.

Also does Ripple support Microsoft Access?

Thanks

According to this page, it's <your 10-digit number>@mobile.mycingular.com. However, I've also read that it depends on the market since I've seen many variations such as @mobile.mycingular.net, @mobile.cingular.com, and @wireless.mycingular.com. Your best bet would probably be to send yourself a short e-mail message from your phone to another e-mail address. That should definitely answer your question.

I'm happy with mine, thanks Rossman. Just out of curiousity...if I wanted more space and more bandwith like the one you mentioned in your first post. Would I have to pay the $9.95 setup fee? Or just the difference from what I've payed already? Also any idea who I would even contact about an upgrade? Thanks again.

dak125 - If you're using RippleHost there are no upgrades, you'd have to register another domain and get another webhosting account.

I retact my comment below about pop up ads. It turns out that the domain name might not have been resolved thoughout the Internet and therefore defaulting to where I created my domain name.

----------------

Ripple Host is not such a hot deal. I signed up for a site yesterday. Actually costs $15. $10 setup + $5/yr.

I put up a default index.html. And showed a few people. Some people got pop up ad(s)... some didn't.

I'm pretty upset because I didn't see that posted. Maybe I should have read more carefully.
