I bought an xbox recently.
- I like FPS, but they suck with a controller so you're not missing anything there, imo. Sport/Racing games are pretty much all I enjoy on the xbox. I've spent roughly $600 on games since I purchased it a month or two back, and am still look for satisfaction. I'm not claming that the xbox is a bad system by any means, instead, maybe I'm just not the gamer I used to be, and it was a bad purchase on my behalf.
- Big plus for the extra DVD player (big negative that you have to buy the $30 kit). I've found the extra player very useful though.
- Xbox Live is supposed to be the big ticket.
- Not really. I have the option of returning my xbox and getting the packaged deal free of charge, but I'm not interested.
- Not in the near future.
I would follow others advice and see which platform offers the most games you like. I would like to add that I don't see why people like to compare the xbox to the pc saying you/they don't need one because they have a good rig. Just because it's made by Microsoft and has the same recognizable hardware as a PC doesn't make them similar. Also there are many many more titles that you can get on the xbox that are not offered on the PC than you can get on both. On another note, it might be fact or just my personal opinion, but I think you're getting better graphics with an xbox than most of your PC games because game developers are trying to maximize the xbox potential where as with a PC, they have to develop games for a wide variety of platforms/systems. I?m not saying the xbox has better hardware (cause it doesn?t obviously), but better graphic engines.
I think the deal right now is the 2 games and a free steering wheel for racing games. Most new games come with a 2 month free subscription for xbox live.
