UPDATED: HP board cans CEO Apotheker for Meg Whitman

i really don't understand how you buy palm for $1.2 billion, put another $3.50 into it, and then claim failure.

i really don't understand how you buy palm for $1.2 billion, put another $5 into it, and then claim failure.

Keep in mind, Palm wasn't purchased with Leo at the helm. That was a Hurd purchase and from how things played out, I don't think Leo had a clue what to do with it and I suspect his half-assed support of webOS and his rapid about-face on the Touchpad may have sealed his fate.

I agree lxskllr. I have a Touchpad and I have an iPhone, and from a pure OS perspective, I much prefer webOS. I just want to see the app base grow significantly and IMO, HP should've sold the tablets for less and tried to make the money in the app store.

I wonder if that means my $85 Touchpad will magically go back to being worth $300+. Oh wait... :hmm:

Good. I picked up one of the HP Touchpad's during the fire sale and I am very impressed with WebOS. I would love to see development continue. The touchpad is very nice after you do some tweaks and it could have been a real competitor for the iPad. I am a Apple fan but we need competition.

Hopefully they will undo the idiot mistakes the guy has made. I don't even want to go into how many corps he pissed off when they decided to "get out of the PC business" I know we dropped everything HP once they did that. You can't just go dropping corp contracts like that.

Well the one positive about Meg Whitman is that she isn't Leo. 😀 I don't think you can screw up any more than that fool. I didn't realize this, but he was only CEO of SAP for 10 months when they shitcanned him. He has been CEO of HP for about a year and is about to get shown the door again.

From one fuck up to another one? Yea, that'll end well.

Huh?

Whitman took eBay from a company with 30 employees and revenues of $4 million and turned it into a company with 15,000 employees and revenues of ~$8 billion.

If you consider a CEO who increased revenues 199,900% then I guess Meg Whitman is a fuck up.

so theyre going to replace apothercar with an unethical person who has absolutely no experience in their business at all??
