2011 Charger 5.7L is only 370/395 still.

2011 Challenger is 379/410.

Probably don't want to be too close to the SRT models.

Also, according to dyno testing, every one of the current Hemi engines is underrated at least a bit, and in some cases a lot.

What do you mean by "best"? If you're talking 0-60 on the street, you're right. In the 1/4 mile I think the Vette would be faster if it had a $400 upgrade to some drag radials.

The main reason the '12 GT-R is faster is because of the reprogrammed AWD and traction control system. The increased hp helps but once out of the hole it won't be that much faster than the older models. At least that is my opinion.

0-60 it bests it from the numbers shown. Maybe 1/4 miles, but probably not. I would like to think the extra power and other revisions will show on the road course. it will be a good run. I tried finding numbers on the new '12, but they really just said it beats the previous models times at the ring. I think the ZR1 had 3-4 seconds on the '10, but I don't know which time they are basing this off as both the vette and GTR have shown improved times in the last couple yrs.

Regardless, the Z06 is more comparable, based on price, to the GTR and the GTR is faster (road course)

wtf... FOUR pages long?!!? Did he end up buying it?

Yes he is. Look at this thread. I get busy with work for a few days and this thread goes crazy.

Car will be at the dealership around the 25th.

Financing is in place

Just have to wait now. 🙂

Congrats!!!! I'm so jealous. If you ever drive by Sacramento, can I take it for a spin?

Unfortunately on the east coast but will have it out at Atco in new jersey in the spring. If any east coast guys want to meet up i'd be in for it aslong as it's on a weekend.

grats dude! make sure to take some pictures and make a few video clips if you can. it's gotta be like driving a damned rocketship 🙂

make sure you put a cardboard on the windshield that reads

"Haters are gonna hate"

then take a picture

 Post up some pics when you get it. I see these cars around here from time to time. My local Nissan dealership had two in the showroom last time I was in there. Sweet ride!

When you go to pick it up, you need a boost controller in one pocket, and a flash tuner in the other. :awe:

Would love a tune but im not sure about how it affects the warranty and thats something i want to keep intact.. for now.

500Awhp would be nice.

Just out of curiosity, what kind of interest rate do you get on a $70k car?

Enjoy it OP, it's looks like a hell of a ride.

Transmission & Diff fluid change:
8 Quarts (Our car took just under 8. They quote 10 quarts, but the ammount used is rarely, if ever, that high. Honest dealers will tell you what your car took. Dishonest ones can easily charge you for the full 10.) of GT-R Automatic Transmission Fluid @ $86.24/ea: $689.92
3 Quarts of GT-R specific differential oil @ $62.02/ea: $186.06
Labor: $500
Oil Change:
1 Oil Filter: $6.95 (finally, something normal)
6-quarts Mobil 1 Synthetic 0W40 @ 9.38/ea: $56.28
Labor: $150
New Engine Air Filters and in Cabin Microfilter: (We could have saved a few bucks and done this one ourselves, but the car was already in the shop.)

1 Micro Air filter: $53.38
Labor: $115.00
The remote entry was repaired at no cost.
Our service advisor also noted that our right-rear tire had lost a strip of rubber on the inner edge, metal was showing. We have a set of tires already orderd from Stokes Tire Pros in Santa Monica.
TOTALS
Labor: $817.50
Parts: 1,101.31
Tax: 90.86
Total charge: $2009.67 Days out of service (including estimates for the repair): 4

as far as warranty goes if your documentation shows a short fill, that may cause you an issue down the road if you want to make a claim.

If the offcial manuals show 10quarts, it's best to stick with that if you are documenting the quantity.

labor costs and transmission fluid seem expensive. how often does the transmission fluid need to be replaced? my guess it would be a more severe schedule if you're pushing it on the track or whatnot, but my guess for normal daily driving would be every 40K miles or so

i'm sure you can do the engine air filter yourself and save $275.
