[UPDATED] Battlefield 3 Digital Download pre-load - $51 at Amazon

Price only applies to the PC download version, which you must click on to see the $51 [previously $42] price - Amazon is marketing its new service to compete with Steam, Origin, etc.

The pre-order bonus is not as good as other vendors (particularly EA/Origin), but the price is right and it still comes with the Back to Karkand map pack.

NEW revised fine print: Pre-order Battlefield 3 - Limited Edition and you will be able to pre-load the game starting at 7am PST on October 21, 2011.

I kinda wanted the DAO-12, but this price is too good to pass up. Plus, if something better comes along you can cancel this with no hassles.

I have a pre-order for the PC-DVD at GameStop for $59.99 with free future map pack.

Think I could cancel it, and they'd give me my $10. deposit back as a gift card...

I'm jumping on this deal. I'll be cancelling my d2d deal for it. This deal is a few dollars cheaper and I'm hoping amazon's network is better than d2d's so when i get home from work the dl will be complete.

I'm wondering now if Amazon can handle the load when everyone is trying to download BF3. AC: Brotherhood is on sale so I picked it up, and its taking forever to download...

Interesting question, but if anyone can handle it, Amazon should be able to.

As an FYI, anyone looking for a physical copy can now get release date delivery from Amazon for $1. Too bad there isn't currently a discount on the DVD version.

I had to bite, its hard to beat that price...anywhere. I don't care about all that other fancy shit i'd never use...plus i got a $5 credit on my credit card so its an extra 5 bucks off...sweet. Chances are you will be able to use the cd key on origin as well...

edit: so wait, I clicked pre-order and it didn't ask me for a CC...yet says the order is placed...

edit 2: nvm im high.

It's been years since I've bought any games at release day but after playing the beta I'm sold. I may end up not feeling good that day and won't make it to work. This is perfect timing since I was lamenting about missing out on all the previous pre-order promos. Thanks!

Thnx

PS
Has anybody signed up for the Amazon credit card and had any problems?
Says they start you out with an instant $40 of credit

No, had no problems. There's no annual fee and I chopped it up the second it arrived in the mail. I can't foresee how it could ever come back to bite me in the ass or anything. Free $40 as far as I can tell.

Not just "chances are", Origin is required. It will give you an activation code which you put into origin once the game unlocks. Now I'm not sure if Origin is how we have to download it as well or if there will be an Amazon specific download.
