Find a BIN item, (not one that says immediate payment required). Click "Buy it now", it will then take you to a page where it'll ask you if you are sure. On that page, on the bottom left it should display how much you will get back, along with the green banner.

Note that's just for testing purposes to see if it is active, so it doesn't matter what item it is (just don't confirm the purchase, of course)
 
I don't think you understand what I was saying: I used this before so I know what is supposed to happen. . When I used cheap camera or cheap printer, the link to eBay didn't result in the red icon to let you know cashback was live.

Fortunately, "Cheap WII" did work (thanks Squirrelman) and I made my purchase.
 
dropped to 20%!! What was the highest % off live.com has gotten to by chance? Does it just fluctuate or what's the deal?
 
Damn! I was about to buy the HTC Diamond for Sprint now that I finally had a chance to play with it at the Sprint store today. Hope 30% comes back soon, or even 25%!

It was as high as 35% back in June I think. It's probably going to go down a little bit more before it goes back up.
 
I just made a purchase, I opened the message in ebay and it directed me to the live website. I logged in. How come Total pending cashback: $0.00?
 
I think the highest its been is 30% really. The 35% was actually 25% plus a paypal 10% that not everyone was eligible for. 20% is still a nice discount.

matas: it may take 24 hours for it to show up in your live.com cashback site. Once you click the link from ebay you should be good though. Just go back and check it in a day or so. If it still doesn't show pending, then click the link from the ebay message again
 
Did anybody try leaving a few of the 30% links open and try to see if they still work?

I opened several tabs in IE with the 30% off link on saturday when the deal was still good, but have not clicked on them yet to see if they work. Once I find something to buy, I might try and see if I get the 30% off still.

but I'm glad it went down.. I can finally stop checking eBay for stuff to buy. 😱)
 
Ugh, I was considering getting something even witht he 20% cashback but ebay sellers inflating prices and the CA tax are killing the deal.
 
Sorry to have to ask again, but if I purchase multiple items in a single session, do I get 20% off the cumulative total?

Or can you get 20% on just a single item?

If the eBay auction is for multiple items and it has a buy it now price, then yes, you can get 20% off the price.


But if you're buying multiple items, you have to use the 20% cash back on each one, and remember, you can only make 6 purchases per eBay account with the 20% cash back.
 
You can make up to 6 purchases per eBay ID. They can be in the same session or spread over different sessions.

If you buy multiple items from the same seller and make a single payment, you get 20% off the total and it counts as one purchase.

So how does the 60 minute time limit apply in relation to 6 purchases? Do you have to make 6 purchases in 60 minutes, each with a max rebate of $60? Or can you purchase 6 things on different days?

6 things different days - it just has that 60 minute limit b/c it doesn't want you to click on the link when it's high, then leave it up for days and then when % drops use that link.

In the beginning, the percentage varied widely -- you could get 15% one time and 25% the next. You had 1 hour to use whatever your luck got you.
Things have changed quite a bit now: it either works at some fixed percentage or it doesn't.

Yeah tell me about it! I felt like I was actually LOSING money by not maxing out my Cashback amount! lol Now at 20% I can save money if I actually NEED something. All in all I've saved about $400 with this deal...not so shabby!
 
Finally got a chance to use this. Bought a 1TB drive on eBay for $137.99 minus $27.xx cash back with free shipping and the seller is about an hour away from here. Not bad I suppose for the hard drive space and it's a Seagate. Thanks for keeping this thread updated.
 
anybody get a duplicate e-mail this morning? just got one re-stating that i purchased something i already got cashback for...but it says i'll be getting the rewards in 30 days...wth? should i e-mail them or just hope it comes through lol... *debating*

ME! I thought someone hacked my ebay account, but I got an email for the same amount from a few months back that I've already been paid for.
