**UPDATED 2/24** New BMW 1-Series pics from a photo/commerical shoot

BMW is continuously dragging its name through the mud.

If only they realized how much brand-recognition damage it is doing to them.

The bangle nightmare is perhaps over (BOOYAH😀 ), but WTF is this.

To say it is a waste of metal is an insult to our aluminum atoms out there.

The Bangle nightmare won't be over until he's fired and all this designs have run their course.

I'll reserve judgement until I see it in person, but I don't like what I'm seeing. The concept pictures have been better.

I've seen worse, but the "flame surfacing" is evident, and what's with the taillights? They look tiny, are they disguised or something?

Wish we could see the front fascia.

I'm somewhat interested in the 2.5L, 2-door coupe or hatch version of this car if they keep the weight to around 2800lbs. If they want to sell any in the US the coupe version (2-series) has to be much better looking.

If BMW releases that, BMW will no longer have any ability to attach a special 'meaning' to their name. Though, I think BMW already doesn't mean much any more. Too many kids have them.

too many kids have too much of anything these days, whether it be BMW, Lexus, Infinity, Merc, Audi, Saab or whatever I see plenty of teenagers driving them all, so to single one out when they are all in the same boat IMHO seems silly.

I remember when BMW's were attractive, masculine cars

that thing looks like something Kia would make (trying to imitate BMW, of course)

BMW has some pretty aggressive sales goals and the only way to meet them is introduce cheaper models. The 1/2 series is really designed for the Euro market (where hatches are the norm) but will be sold in the US. is Mercedes hasn't compromised their higher-end cars by going "down market."

Good point. I don't think most Americans understand that "premium" brands like Merc and BMW make a lot of their money with comparatively cheap cars overseas. Merc sells hundreds of thousands of cheap vans and stripper small sedans in the foreign markets.

ugh yuck. what a let down. that thing looks ugly in the photos. i was expecting more, afte rhte 4 series photos recently. imo, they did a pretty decent job on the 4 series design. now to see this. -_-
