I would prefer it if you didnt.

Why not?

Well me and my friends have been thinking about posting this online and realized we think doing it was a big mistake. In the event that this video became a popular one like the star wars kid or something (VERY unlikely) we believe that this could become a burden. The video was taken without him knowing which I am pretty sure is ilegal. It was great fun and all. But my friend is planning on bringing a video camera to school and shooting some more video with him knowing (he will do it anyway as he does this everyday) so better footage will possibly be put on here within the week. But you never know shlt happens, the video may never be put up. So if you saw it and still have it PLEASE do not spread it around. No renaming it to paris-hilton.avi and putting it on kazaa or anything. You may think that I am a pvssy for not posting it but I see a lot more harm than good to me and my friends that could come out of this.

Hope that explains it for ya.

Nothing illegal about filming someone. What's the mos that will happen, video will become popular, his nerd dumbass would see it, complain, local news would get involved, and then the whole city would know who stinks.

You're in HS. How are you gonna get kicked out of one class?

xionide, it sounds like the earlier post you made about this being in the public domain isn't holding water. I mean I saw the video and it was pretty disgusting and that guy should quit it. But I guess your original argument about how

"He shouln't have done nasty $hit in public. I think when something is done in public, it is in the public's domain"

wasn't really a good argument. It sounded more like a real offensive posture to take. People do things in public all the time, I would argue that doesn't mean you can record it and post it online, as you're probably starting to be aware of. Who knows what legal rights you or he has...

Thanks for the laughs, or gags, though. Hope this doesn't get larger than it needs to.

actually i'm the one that said that. my understanding is that people are allowed to be filmed in public as long as their privacy isn't invaded. i don't see how these guys invaded his privacy.

also, the only loophole i can think of is that it was done on school property. that may be the problem, but then again, i'm no lawyer

You have no reasonable expectation of privacy in public. It's a pretty good argument, it doesn't matter if you don't like it. In fact the Supreme Court is moving away from there even being a right to privacy at all.

School probably isn't a public place, either way that doesn't really matter. "Public" isn't just defined geographically. If you choose to do something for an audience in your own bedroom, that bedroom isn't a private place because of the audience.

You are using HTML tags and not BB tags. Change your <> </> to [] [/] and it will diplay properly.

it's not that. it's what considered public property vs private property, according to the state's law.

Different rules apply in different contexts. You're right in a property law context, but not necessarily in a case where reasonable expectation of privacy applies.

yes.

the guy in the video has his private rights in a high school setting. I'd be pretty pissed if that was me in the video.
