i've known a sarah and she wasn't a slut. i've known 2 wesleys and one was a complete stoner idiot but i didn't have much contact with the other one, so i can't really say anything about him.

Sara just looks like someone took the name Sarah and dropped the "h" to look hip and trendy. I'd say go with Sarah and let her drop the h later on if she wants to as a nickname. At least that way most of the people she meets will spell her name correctly first time around.

I say go with an H.
Sarah is spelled in Hebrew ending with a letter that has an "H" sound.
It's originally a Hebrew name.
 
I only like it without the "H," just as I only like Isabel without the "LE" at the end. The "H" just seems like an unnecessary tack-on that ruins the prettiness and symmetry of the name.
 
Our oldest is named Sarah, atleast I believe it's spelled with an "H". We call her by her middle name though.
 
I voted for "Sarah", but either spelling is nice. Is its special meaning a family member's name? How was it spelled for her?

EDIT: NM, just read your reply about your grandmothers. In that case, I would go with "Sara".

Because my wife like the "h". Both of my grandmothers names were Sara, I personally like it with no "h" as it is more original. Like my name with only one L (Mitchel).

If you're naming her in honor of your grandmothers, then go with Sara. I personally like the "h" as well on the end. As far as original spellings - original spellings and names are... what's the word I'm looking for? It's not that positive of a word. Regardless, parents who come up with some of those "cleverly" spelled names should be slapped. Every teacher who will ever have their kids will have the urge to slap them at every parent-teacher conference. example: spelling it "Cera" or, how about "Tserra" <slap>

As far as I know both of my grandmothers names were spelled Sara, but my wife and I were thinking that perhaps the spelling of the names were changed when they left Poland back in the early 1900's.

The other thing I was thinking about is the fact they/we are Jewish and chances are they spelled the names as they were in the bible, or spelled the way they sound which would be with an "H".

I need to do some research and figure it out.
