I guess family influence has something to do with my Ford bashing. My dad has owned one Ford. While it isn't one of their better cars, a 72 Mustang, it has turned him away from Ford forever, well, unless he gets an early t-bird. Granted their cars are better now, but after talking to the_good_guy about his Focus, my opinion still stands. The one Ford I like among those I've been in is my friend's '65 Mustang:D

Oh, no... I fly helicopters for a living, not airplanes. :)

Airline pilots are just well paid bus drivers...

Corporate pilots are just well paid limo drivers...

I'm, well... :) Right now I'm a poorly paid limo driver...

My goal is to fly EMS, but I need a few more years of experience before I can do that. Then I'll be doing what I got into this business to do in the first place. :D

Hehehe...

Dude, it is a black Suburban, not a UFO. :D

If you live in America right now and don't know what a black Suburban looks like, you need to get out more often. :)

The interior is what is really nice... that I'll need to wait until tomorrow to take pictures of...

BTW, you do remember that you're not allowed to call it a "chopper", right? Either Helo or Helicopter are acceptable.

:D

Charter flights, Part 135 Air Taxi work...

More or less, corporate because at $750/hr, few non-overpaid CEO types can afford this...

Believe it or not, there are an amazing number of people who find it worth while to save an hour or two in their day at these rates...

Often times, I'll pick someone up at DFW airport and fly them downtown for a meeting, then go pick them up and fly them back to the airport for their flight out.

It saves them maybe an hour each way in traffic if it is during rush hour, and for this they may pay $2,000 or so. I guess their time is REALLY special or something...

Oh well... I'll take the flight time, need it to get that EMS job. :) Some of these rich guys are a PITA however... Think the world revolves around them or something... Sigh...

Professional pilots cannot stand it being called that.

A "Salad Shooter" is a chopper. You don't want to use the word "chopper" around the spinning rotorblades of a helicopter, it is just bad luck.

While I've never seen an accident in person, I've seen pictures of what happens when someone walks into the tail rotor while it is spinning... They have to use spoons to pick it all up... :( :( :(

Helicopters landing often draw lots of attention cause people think they are interesting. They are, but they are also dangerous if you don't stay back.

No, that isn't good either... :(

The JetRanger is off-limits right now. It has the company name on the side of it, and for now I don't care to share quite that much with you guys... :)

If I did, you'd figure out who I am, someone would do something stupid like call the office. You might even find out who Thumper is and tell her about this place. :D I'm not ready for that...

That's what photoshop is for (or MS paint if your poor and honest). Just remove the company name and the plane's number.

That the 6.0? BTW: MORE PICS!!!!!

Gotta have engine, exterior, and other pics too.

How's the fuel economy? I truly despise SUV's on the basis that if I want to get 15 MPG in the city, I'll get a full sized truck with just as much seating and 50% more cargo room.

I'm guessing he's got the 5.3, stock I saw an average with mixed city and highway of 17 (With the blower my city went down, but my highway stayed at 19)

He might have more weight, but he's prolly also got 3.73's while I have 4.10's... I could be wrong though ;)

Nope, that has the 5.3 in it...

You do know the engine looks like every other 5.3 Chevy engine, right? :) It is a 2000 Black Suburban LT, haven't you seen about a million of them? Fine, I'll take a few tomorrow... ;)

Not enough track record, but 15mpg looks to be about right so far. Better than the 12mpg I was getting in the 4x4 Expy.

A full size truck will not haul 8 people in comfort. :) With the back two rows folded down, this will haul 4x8 sheets of plywood. A Chevy 2500HD with a crew cab and a bed long enough to do that is nearly two feet longer than this truck, much too long for normal driving. Sheesh, this thing is itself a foot longer than the Expy and long enough as it is...

17's not bad at all for a truck of that size and curb weight. Dont quote me since I've been awake for 22 hours, but IIRC its over 6000 pounds.

....which puts it just over the unloaded limit to qualify it as an IRS tax deduction as a commercial vehicle. :)
