Here's my conspiracy theory on "the call" that ended the game.

It's been well rumored that Seattle and Lynch have been at ends with each other. There's a rift there and I really don't think that Seattle management wants to lock up a pile of money into a guy who's a few months away from being 29 and has a punishing running style.

Now if they hand the ball off to him at that spot and he trots in potentially sealing up their victory he's a hero to the city. How can they *NOT* sign him in that situation. Fans will hate the front office for years.

So instead, they put the chance to win on Wilson's arm, piss off Lynch for not giving him the goal line carry and make him even more mad at the organization and deflect the hero aura that he would get from fans.

Just randomly musing... :p

Sounds good to me.

The refs ate their whistles as both teams were getting away with Offensive and Defensive PI. It was pretty even imho.

Of all the pick plays Seattle use, how many times have you seen a crew call an offensive PI call esp. in a crucial time. Also the non roughing the kicker call when he clearly hit his plant let. The non call on the helmet to helmet hit on Edelman by Cam Canchellar (I thought the refs were supposed to call it if it was close and seeing Cam launched at him, how was it not called), the non calls on neutral zone infractions.

Goota give Edelman respect. It looked like he played with a concussion on the non called Helmet to Helmet by Kam.

totally thought that after the hit. After he got up and ran a little after the play was over he looked totally wobbly.

On one hand it was nice to see calls be a little less ticky tack but again its a different fucking playing field vs the regular season. How hard is it to make calls consistent?

wow, a sore winner bitching about calls.

U mad bro? I've been hearing all week about the Seahawks defense being the BEST ever and how they were going to cave in Brady's chest and demoralize the Pats. The refs let them play Seattle's "ref's can't call every penalty" style and they still lost and got dominated by NE's offense.

I made that comment about lynch & contract right after the game. Glad its taking off now.

But I do love all the idiots saying the game was a thesis of how the patriots are immortal and it showed how bad the seahawks defense actually was. Ignoring things like seahawk receivers getting tripped while running routes, you do realize that if 99.99% of the earth had sent in the game ending play it would have been a running TD and victory for the seahawks.

not mad at all. Like I said before, Pats had a better D and offense this game, despite the close score. It was consistent.

And ignoring roughing the punter or Chris Matthews pushing off Arrington to make one of his catches.

The contract had nothing to do with the call, how stupid. Why did they call a run on first down when he almost went into the end zone?

You post a lot of stupid stuff but then again, you're a Jets fan. :D

damn though that was a hell of a game. Wilson is an amazing QB. I'm excited about watching him over the next few years.

Someone mentioned best out of 3 games. Yes please. i'm all for it after that game. I don't even care who wins it was just a great game.

I thought the officiating was ok. Sure they missed the call on the punter. but other then that it was pretty good Bitching about missed calls? fuck off it was a well reffed game.

Great game.

Worst play call in super bowl history. That will haunt Carroll as a head coach. Inexcusable, move on.

Seahawks didn't score again after 5 to go in the 3rd.

Very even teams.

Ignore the NE penalties not called like Brady's intentional grounding and Butler tripping the WR.

I've already posted about all the missed calls. Like the 1st quarter roughing the passer call. Why did you think the refs called the 5 yard variety instead of the 15 which would have given the Pats a 1st down which was the letter of the rule. Yet your going on about a call the refs probably didn't see at full speed.

And so what. You do realize that the Seahawks got there on one of the luckiest catches of all time. The football Gods giveth and taketh away. In fact let's go further back, the Seahawks only make it to the superbowl on one of the biggest mistakes on that onside kick.

Best out of 3? Do you think Mathews would catch all of those LOB passes or their receiver would catch that 4th quarter pass at the end of the game or Revis would run into another referee. You see how the Pats shut that down once they benched Arrington (whose been benched before this year for the same thing). Whereas the Pats offense would continue to roll. Their Offense seemed deliberate and in control. Out of 3 games, this would probably be the closest game

Relax bro.. I was rootin for the Pats to. Just sayin, game was so good I would love to watch this match up again. Like a back n forth boxing match, Seatle looking for that KO punch and missed.

Yeah, love watching him. He moves around so well back there, then just takes off when he wants. Looks so effortless.

This. I was really expecting them to take him off the field. He looked really wobbly after that hit. Wouldn't be surprised to hear he fought through it and is hurting now. Pretty dangerous, but it wasn't just any game. Seattle already lost Avril I believe to concussion.

Ignore the NE penalties not called like Brady's intentional grounding and Butler tripping the WR.

On that supposed intentional grounding, Gronkowski was up from that throw. Referees give leeway in situation like that where a QB could have just made a bad pass (like the ball slipped from his hands). Most QB's don't intentionally ground the ball in the middle of the field.

The tripping could have easily been missed. I didn't see it going full speed. I expect them to miss some of those calls. It's the apparent no calls that get me. Like the Roughing the Kicker call or the helmet to helmet to a defenseless receiver. What was the excuse for that, or do you not think they saw that. Or the lining up in the neutral zone where Stork had to take a holding call. What is the excuse for that or do you not think the refs whose job is to look down the line saw that?

Breaking: Maziel checks into a treatment center.

Does he have a drug problem?

Edit: didn't see smack's post.
