Why do you guys seem to think that Arizona was somehow shit for most of the year? It's like their 9-0 start or whatever it was meant nothing.

Also, I think none of you have ever watched St Louis play within the division. Those jerks are the master trolls of the league. They pretty much suck anywhere else these years, but play every team within the division hard as piss (and yes, you can say that about most divisional rivals in the league).

Anyway, much of this is nonsense. W-L matters more than anything once you start controlling for all of these variables. By the end of the season, what proved to be the top 2 teams in the league, anywhere, are the top 2 teams meeting for all the marbles. I don't know why anyone would complain.

Why the Pats homers want to deflate Seattle's more than adequate chances of beating them, yet again, is beyond me. But I have been lead to believe after years of living amongst unapologetic Boston-area homers that reality in the northeast exists in a very small bubble.

I think the Pats will win this, but the nonsensical mental gymnastics to suddenly claim that Seattle are unworthy opponents grossly ignores this team's accomplishments over the last 2-3 years.

Again, just ask Peyton....and all the other top QB's that have suffered at the hands of Wilson and Co.

Like that Brady guy.

I know, maybe Wilson should run out onto the field with an Eli mask! :D

How is it deflection or ad-hominem. You quoted stats and from your comments it seems like you hadn't watched the games your stats were based. If you did, my apologies. All I am saying is that stats at times can be massaged to say whatever you want it to say. In the NFl every game has it's own subset of variables week to week, and you can't solely rely soley on stats esp, the ones you highlighted. Btw.. All you had to say was you did watch the games.

In terms of NE fans being a lot classier. NE fans are generally very knowledgeable about their teams and the NFL in general whereas Seattle fans most of them became fans last year :)

I doubt Seattle will win. But if they do, does that change my view of NE being the better team? Well it would if you only looked at the final score. Seattle won last week. Are you really prepared to say that Seattle was the better team than GB?

Is this what a New England fan admitting they were wrong looks like?

If we're playing that game, Seattle beat the Packers twice and NE lost to them.

Anyway, I stand corrected. When the Pats lose or play crappy it's because of excuses. But they're still awesome.

Everyone beat everyone.

Wow your arguments are pure fucking dogshit. Do you even listen to yourself?

Look that shit up if you're having problems understanding. Basically you're unwilling to address it because you're likely unable to understand it. Those stats take into account factors like team play (which includes the QB).

Of course you think that's how stats work because you clearly don't understand them.

Yes, I'm sure he just looks at stats and doesn't watch any games. For fuck's sake, are you for real?

Yeah New England fans classy. What the fuck? Now I know you're just trolling. Holy shit. Fans in general, across the board, are shitheads. It's basically a requirement of being a fan (you know that's short for fanatic, right? Do you need to have that explained to you as well?). There's definitely different levels of fandom, but it's hilarious you act like "Pats fans are smart and know", go back to 2002 and I bet you'd see the same shit you're chastising Seattle fans as being.

"Yeah sure, I mean, they lost, but they were clearly the better team!" JHumeC....

LOL, pretty much.

There are a LOT of great fan bases in the NFL. Obviously every team has their turds but most fans are really great. It is always worth a good chuckle, though, when they attack Seattle fans as newcomers. Yeah, Seattle is fantastic, as we welcome bandwagon jumpers--Seattle is going to be really good for a 10 year run so hop on! Seattle has been pretty darn good the last decade (look it up) and has sold out every game since 2003.

I know trolls don't care, but Seattle fans don't get enough credit for being great in the 80s, too. e.g.

NFL Winter Meetings : Too Noisy Cheering Will Bring Penalties
LA Times (March 22, 1989)
At the Seattle Kingdome, for instance, visiting quarterbacks have for years complained that their teammates often couldn't hear the signals in the din.

The Behring years were rough but fans got on the freeway to halt the middle-of-the-night secrete move. Fans saved their team. I know other teams have equally cool stories but it is always funny when other teams feel intimidated and have to insult a fan base.

I figure since simple is the only thing you can understand:
Russell Wilson 10-0 against Super Bowl winning QBs.

Oh no, it's a stat. It lies or something and somehow indicates I've never watched a game and thus don't know anything. But that Tim Brody sure is a good QB, I bet him and Bob Belafonte are Hall of Famers for sure. And Kraft food sure knows how to put together a football team. I heard ESPN say they're really good!

I'm kinda getting tired of Lynch's schtick. Yeah, the "NFL" forces players to cooperate with the media for greed/revenue purposes, but people seem to forget that it's in the players' best interests as well. NFL Players Association is a powerful union. If the players don't want to talk to the media, they could easily negotiate that into the next Players Association agreement. They won't. Because the Player's Union WANTS the players to cooperate with the media because it fattens up each player's bottom line. More money to the NFL = More money to everyone involved.

Lynch doesn't like talking to the media? Write a damn letter to the player's union saying you want them to remove that requirement in the next union agreement. Your fellow players won't do it? Then sack up and do what your job asks of you. There's tons of shit about my job I don't like doing and I still do it, and I'm not getting paid millions either.

No, stats are just that numbers that need a basis to be understood.

Let's look at the sack stat. What does that tell you? If a player consistently gets sacks because there is a really dominant DL next to him who is generally doubled and tripled teamed does that make that player good? Or what about when 2 Defensive players run a stunt and the OL is scared of a more dominant player, so they double him leaving the 2nd player open, what does that say about the player who actually got the sack. Or even moreso, a dominat nose tackle pushes the pocket in and forces the QB to run outside into the hands of a DE for a sack. What does that say about the DE? Does that mean that the dominat nose tackle sucks because he doesn't have any sacks? How do you begin to measure the nose guard without those stats of yours. You do know some coaches could care less about the sack stat. As it doesn't tell you much. You know coaches like Bill Belichick.

Let's look at the interception stat. If a DL continuously puts pressure on a quarterback and tips the ball and some loser CB catches the tip ball what does that tell you. What if a CB plays across a dominant corner like Revis and also has a dominate line, so the QB is generally pressed and he gets a lot of interceptions based on tipped balls, or rushed passes, what does that tell you about that CB?

Like I said stats are just that mumbers. Without an understanding of how those numbers came to be, you'll sound just like a fucking idiot. Like you do now.

Now go look at and spew all the stats you want pretending that makes you sound like a smart sports fan or someone who has any understanding of football.

Again, watch the fucking games and then come back and try to make a coherent argument to anything I said.

Like I said. You continue to sound stupid. What does Russell Wilson being 10-0 tell you about Russell Wilson? You do know games are played as a team. There is offense, defense, special teams and coaching. Do you think Russell Wilson won all those games single handed? Again. that is another stupid stat intended for, you got it stupid people.

Then why do you consistently make the argument that their wins against great teams are meaningless because of the QB--ONE GUY--they were opposing on that specific day?

When does the QB matter, and when does the team matter?

Oh right--whenever it's convenient for your broke-ass analogies.

Is this really a serious post? On one hand you're trying to say Russell Wilson is 10-0 against SuperBowl wining quarterbacks as if this is madden and each quarterback controls both offense and defense. On the other hand I am saying that Seattle's defense is overrated because they have played A lot of teams especially in the last 6 weeks of the season with Terrible quarterbacks. A terrible and even more so a back up quarterback makes a team one dimensional, so it's easier to stop the run and easier to put up great defensive pass numbers.

Do you understand now or do we have to have a remedial football class for some of you recent(bandwagon jumping) SeaHawks fans.

ah yes, now the bandwagon thing. You've already forgotten pre-Brady Patriots, eh? :D

I'm not a Seattle fan. I like this team. I like football in general, and it's easy to enjoy the game throughout when one's team is the Redskins, who just turn the whole sport into a farce.

So, I don't sit in bubbles and start all my analysis with "The Patriots are the greatest team ever and will win because x--" Or insert any team there.

Now I'm hoping it's yet another Brady ass-whooping in the big game, just so we can have another butthurt super fan in here running away and pouting for several months when the "impossible" actually happens. recall: Denver 2 years running.

You have to respect the Patriots. We are watching History in the making. You're kids will be talking about the greatest coach and quarterback to ever play. Sit back and enjoy it and remember where you were when they trash the SeaHawks. Show them the Respect they deserve :)

But, I really just like talking trash and the entertainment the game brings. At the end of the day whether they win or lose it won't affect my life much (I don't gamble). Shit win or lose Tom Brady is driving off in whatever exotic car he drives with his Supermodel wife beside him. :)

Btw, Denver was overrated. Called it last year as well.

Umm I don't think either are Thugs. But Sherman is definitely an ass and talks to much to boot. Why is he upset in victory? He won, be gracious. Both of those clips Brady is upset in defeat, they first talking to no one but himself and the 2nd talking to a ref about a very controversial flag in what turned out to be a very controversial play which actually cost us home field field advantage that year.

How much money did the NFL make when that idiot asked Sherman if he'd trade the trophy for his underwear? :\

Let the narcissists who love the sound of their own voice talk all they want. Not sure why it has to be a requirement.

Probably not, but I'm getting heavy vibes of him from this emperus fellow.
