I can't help but think that movie is gonna suck. I like big-ass war movies, The visuals look pretty sweet....but I sense really bad editing and melodrama assaulting my taste..

I'm thinking the filmmakers might have been too concerned wtih style to worry about the "script issue." Haven't seen it, but who knows....

I predict God of War II will be far more enjoyable 🙂

It looks cool as hell and everyone I've talked to likes it. The eye candy should be most gratifying at least even if the script sucks.

yeah...I just can't appreciate a flick if the script is dogsh1t. eye candy is never enough to cover poor writing (again, I can't say that the movie will suck, just that it's been advertised that it will 😉) Afterwards, I imagine my response would be: "cool...that was sweet..uh, why the hell do I care?"

Think: Star Wars episode 1, 2, 3...anything with Vin Diesel in it...etc.

I liked Sin City. It wasn't the greatest, but the overboard script matched the excessive style. I just hope this can do the same. I'll rent it....

An old friend of mine works at WB in post-editing and has seen it evolve. She's been excited about it since they first got their hands on it. She said the key is understanding that it's a movie about the graphic novel, not about the historic event. Of course, she's a comic/graphic novel nut so she's biased.

yeah...this is pretty much what I'm talking about 🙂 If the whole film is edited that way...yikes. I doubt it though
