I'd rather pay high shipping and a lower winning price. If you can'd do simple addition its your loss.
High shipping means Less eBay fees, means more profit for seller and cheaper price for me.

goes both ways.

gouging on shipping sucks and so do the sellers that do it. if you dont want to pay the listing fees, dont sell on ebay.

You should probably open it at the post office in the mail clerk's presence. I've never done it before, but it might cover you in case the product isn't what it's supposed to be. You'll probably need to explain it to him/her and have a print out of the ebay auction/paypal dispute to back it up. Bring a camera to take pictures if need be.

Ok, so on THursday I won an auction for an Xbox 360 Platinum. It was $412 shipped (less than I'd pay if i paid retail + sales tax). So I emailed the seller to see when he'd be shipping. He told me Friday that he expected to get his shipment this coming week and ship before the week's end.

So would you complain and ask for a refund or give the seller a little leeway (sp) given the good price? The seller has 98% positive feedback w/ about 300 feedbacks.

I paid with my visa so worst case I can contest the charge w/ CapitalOne.

I dont mind being patient (sp, again) since I have to work 60hrs the next 2 weeks anyway. Just wanted to get the anandtech OT'ers opinions.

i hope your not the honest buyer from Nigeria.

I bet alot of people are just taking the risk for these deals on fleabay. I don't believe the op didn't see the red flags. I believe he ignored them and took the risk.

Why oh why did you bid and then proceed to send money to a member with 33% negative/neutral feedback for the last month?? Having 300 evals means nothing if 1/3rd of them are bad...

be patient as it does not seem he scammed you. Also be patient because you got it at a good price. However ocne you recieve it make sure he leaves you a positive eval ans then leave him a neutral one stating you got the product etc but he auctions an item he did not have in his possession and didn't state it in his auction.

CC will most likely not come through. PayPal charged it, so CC asks paypal about it, which is all a valid charge.

Rest resides with Ebay and PayPal.

I dont know how you guys see it...but PayPal is LEgit, and they are the ones charging the CC. PayPal or ebay will have to come through.

yeah, i just kinda hopped on his thread because i had the same problem! Sorry if that confused some of you guys. Well, it's friday, no xbox yet, but she shipped on Monday night from Texas to missouri. Hopefully I see it today. Thing is, I don't really want it anymore as the week long wait has kind of tapered off my lust for it!

I'll let you guys know

doesn't matter. if he never received the items he paid for the credit card company should fight for him. plain and simple.

Looks like you got scamed. Doubt you will recover your money though if you didn't use a credit card.
