Not in the math department - but I had a professor that was scared to touch anything. We had to bag our exams in ziplocks - he would not open the door to the room, if he had to leave you had to open if for him, he would not touch the podium. He'd freak if you came anywhere near him . . . - that was an unusual experience. . .


I also had a Korean Professor in Stats that I had to drop his course because he was incomprehensible even after the third week. I even went to the administration and challenged them to sit in his class and tell me what he was saying - they declined. It is BS to pay for a class and not get what you pay for - and there is nothing racist about that - I'd feel the same way with a caucasion person with an incomprehensible lisp . . .

this is pretty normal.

there are alot of foreign grad. students studying in the US who need money

unfortunately it doesnt seem like universities have a requirement when it comes to speaking english clearly

Calculus isn't as easy as following numbers, and I feel your pain to a certain extent. I took Calc1 my junior year in high school, no math my senior year, and now I'm Calc2 as a freshman at college. It's hard to remember all the trig identities and procedures, not to mention the fact that obviously in high school who tries to actually LEARN the material. My goal was to get a scholarship by getting a high GPA, not to remember what I was taught.

Well, I made this post in the begining of the school year, and now, I have about 6 hours till' my final.
Overall, this guy was a good. Overtime, his accent seemed like plain english, and thanks to his teaching, It's safe to say I'll be at a 3.0 for the class after the exam!
