Wow that hydraulic case is one of the nicest I've ever seen (FYI, it's $52.xx shipped). Too bad only 3x5.25" bays. Does anyone know if you can get that same case with 4x5.25" bays?

Here is a similar case for only $36, looks similar, it's hydraulic, but has no front USB ports. ($46.51 shipped).

Anyone know what brand these cases are? Looks like they may be "Raidmax".....at least newegg calls them Raidmax (a few $ more expensive there).

That's the same one that I just posted above for $37 (SF860B), except the one you posted is silver (SF860S). Looks like the silver is the only one on sale. :frown: $35.53 shipped is a good price for that, even though it's not black, $11 cheaper than the black one. I think I may get a few of those. $15.14 shipping for 2, $9.54 shipping for 1.
 
When mentioning "hydraulic", they are referring to the door on the case. However, in all reality no such thing exists. In practice the door action may resemble hydraulics, but it's quite different mechanically. Look closely and you'll see a button up top. Press it down and the door slides ever so slowly until it reaches the bottom. The reason it's not hydraulic is evident through several observations, namely 1) the door can be manually pushed down a lot faster and 2) it won't go anywhere if the case is upside down or laying on its side.
 
Technically that's still "hydraulic". All that means is it's "action" is damped by (usually) oil. Gravity pulls the door down (as per your observation of the door not moving when it's upside down or on it's side) and the action of gravity is slowed by the oil dampening.

Hydraulic = Sliding front panel that automatically slides down by a push of a button on the top of the case.

 
I would recommed that you stay away from buyxtremegear.com, first of all they never reply to your e-mails. I e-mailed them asking about the Chieftec case they had on sale and I never received any kind of reply. Also it takes them a very long time to have something shipped out. I cancelled my order because it took so long, even though their web site said that it would be shipped out next day. I ended up ordering fron NewEgg and I must say that they have excellent service, it took them only a day to ship out my product.
 
The previous thread about the power supply is no longer available on the msgboard. can someone post the results about the Turbolink PS? is it AMD certified? thanks.
 
Well, I've placed my order twice. Had to do it again, because the first time they couldn't verify my address. I'm beginning to wonder if these cases are really even in stock. Still haven't received an email saying if they've shipped it or not. At least my CC hasn't been charged yet. I'm crossing my fingers on this one.
 
can someone tell me what color the "BLACK" color is? i am looking for one of these cases, but am looking for the antec "charcoal black". in the item description it says "ibm black". also, is the side handle also black or is it purple which i have seen some of these cases have.
 
From what I've seen, charcoal and IBM black are the same...they are both black. One may have a different finish than the other. "Charcoal" may be a bit more "flat". On mine, the handle is black but a different finish/texture since it's plastic. Guess you could say it's closer to a dark gray since it reflects light differently.
 
I bought a IBM black one from newegg a few months back. my mother and mother in law asked me to then build them some new PCs.. So I orderd two more about a month later. But the door handle on theirs was a bluish while the hancle on mine was black.

Are all the black cases now coming with blue door handles.
 
I've ordered three times from them, satisfied twice, pissed off once. The cases are very nice. 420 watt Turbolink is good enough to run you AMD and your peripherals. I had to change the fan to a Panaflo - disgustingly loud.

The piss off - I recieved an unmodded case cover when I ordered a window. Called and asked if I could drop by and exchange it. Sure, OK. Did that and was told that the door is B/O two weeks! Picked it up two weeks later. Customer service is horrible, complaining doesn't help and they out and out lie to you about delivery status etc., but the price is right and they will eventually ship to you.

Newegg is about the best place to buy from, but they are pricey for just about everything. I will order from Cyberpower again - if the price is right. I can always go there and beat up the techs. The receptionist on the other hand is too big!
 
Chad, how can you let these as*holes push you around? I created a "legal" email address for my domain with a *scary* looking <laughs> signature file for instances such as this. This is THESE SOB's fault and NOT YOURS!! Give them HELL, THEY should arrange to have this picked up and with NO CHARGE to and NO #$%& restocking fee!!!!! This burns me up to see sh*t like this. I see it all the time, and I can tell you we NEVER put up with it. It takes some strong words and threats, but if you threaten them and give them hell, they will back down. Now, I'm not serious about threats, BUT, the secret is THEY DON'T KNOW that and no vendor, company, business has EVER called my bluff before.

They suck. I would send them an email explaining the situation and tell them you are going to dispute the CC charge for the first order. Tell them THEY should eat the 15% restock and return shipping cost because THEY screwed up. Disputing a CC charge usually gets their attention. Also post your ratings on www.resellerratings.com.
 
Are you happy with the case, though? And this case is more of a charcoal black than a jet black, right. I think I read that somewhere.

I've been trying to find a 1030b - type case with a window but without a power supply...but I'd like it jet black. I thought about getting this case (a great deal) and putting the window in myself but I think I'd rather have it already installed for me. I'd just buy the panel w/ window from Newegg but I think I read where the panel is actually charcoal.
 
chadeades, just dispute the charge with your credit card. I wouldn't even waste more time calling and emailing.

These people are not very good businessmen and not out to screw you, but are so tight that pennies mean alot for them. For want of a nickel they lose a dollar. FW and AT made them successful and it looked like they were on their way with the $499 Father's Day system, great cases and prices. chadeades, if you were an isolated case I would have just glossed you over and thought of you as a chronic complainer. I have bad feelings against them because I also had a problem with them. I emailed them about their poor customer service, but never received an answer. Well - we can also break them.

AT'ers UNITE! Do not buy from them! Unless.....

We can make them and we can break them. We should have a permanent posting for those companies that screw with AT'ers. There are other companies that are very respected by the community. We give them our business. The buying power of AT'ers is tremendous. I will send an email to them about your problem. I wish that those AT'ers that care will send an email to them about you. If we do not hear from them with a satisfactory response to your problem, we should ban them permanently.
