UPDATE: Horrible Experience READ!!! Sweet Deal (bad CSR)!!! Chieftec (Antec OEM) full tower case for $52 shipped.

UPDATED Ok, so here's the deal. Post your thoughts on this one! I ordered 1 case and get an email saying that they can't confirm my shipping address b/c it didn't match up w/ my CC address. They send me an email saying my order is cancelled. I was away from my home at the time in Knoxville for the summer so I can see why they didn't ship. Anyway, I was ok with this and emailed buyxtremegear back proving my real address and stating why I was at a different address. Then I placed a 2nd order because they cancelled the 1st one. They email me back saying ok, your CC has been charged and your 1st order was cancelled, but we processed your second. Well, anyway it turns out that they didn't cancel my 1st order and now I have 2 cases sitting in my bedroom. I called and tried to explain the situation, but the lady could hardly speak English. She gets some young guy on the phone and I explain to him what happened and how it wasn't my fault. After realizing the company screwed up he says awww "fvck it!". I couldn't believe it! What kind of CSR cusses on the phone? So then I ask him if he'll take it back and send me a refund. He tells me that it wouldn't be worth it b/c of the 15% restocking fee and that shipping charges would not be refunded. By this time I'm hot as hell!!! I argue with him for about 5 minutes (knowing that he's not going to give in) and finally I say screw it! Looks like my only choice is to eBay it! Anyway, now that I'm cooled off I just wanted to share my experience w/ everyone. I got what I ordered and then some and then some more...horrible customer service. I am going to stay away from buyxtremegear from now on. I will agree it's totally worth paying extra $ and get a good product from a reliable company such as newegg. Just my input guys...feel free to post your thoughts.

ORIGINAL POST

I just recently purchased this case, which is huge, roomy, and very sleek looking. Just like the original Antec SX1030B model. The original Antec model costs $77 or more w/out shipping. This one is $35 + shipping and looks nearly identical. The site says it is $39, but it comes up $35. You can get it in dark gray or white and it comes w/ 2 fans and 10 bays. It has a hidden drive compartment which is nice for all the computer builders out there who want to hide the unmatching drives...hehe. Hope you like this find. Post your thoughts. Here is my order info.

Looks hot to me!

Newegg has it for $49 plus $18 shipping

$52 is cheaper than $67

Reselleratings are less than stellar though : Link

Might be worth the gamble

i got one of them for my buddy when new egg had them with the power supply in then for 49.00 but still not a bad deal im thik of getting me one of them i like the case alot

Actually, not quite a full tower (an inch and a half or couple inches shorter). Still, a great case (I've got the Antec 1035b version).

Yeah, doesn't seem to have very good ratings as I've read. Only 4 or 5 out of 20 posts or so at resellerratings. Anyhow I went ahead and placed my order. I will keep everyone updated on if I receive it. You can't always look at reseller ratings though b/c think about it. Most people only leave feedback there if they have problems. The good can go about unheard.

I have that case and its great. Also, someone in this forum once told me that cheiftec made cases for antec and antec sold them under their name.

I just got the Chieftech full tower with 6 X 5.25 for $45.00 at Newegg. Perfect for me. I plan to put my watercooling radiator and fans in the top two bays. $63.00 shipped, which I think is a killer deal. Lots of room and air movement is the name of the game.

Does anyone know for SURE if this is the best deal out now on these cases? I have one already from CyberPowerPC but may get another at this price. Can't check their site because the "geniuses" have no link to cases anywhere.

After reading the comments on Reseller Ratings, I'd be avoiding these guys like the plague. 1 good one (the first one ---probably a plant!), and the rest horrid.

Pay a few bucks more elsewhere and save money on Mylanta. That's why I bought my case thru Staples (PM'ed). If it didn't work out, I could just return it to the store.

Wow, some people simply amaze me!!

If you just happened to read my post you would see that buyxtremegear.com and Cyberpowerpc.com is the same company. And also, if you took a few minutes to peruse the previous thread I provided a link to, you would see that dozens (maybe hundreds) of Anandtechers ordered cases from this place and nobody got stiffed. There was also a huge thread previous to that one (it's linked in the old thread but it's inactive) for this same company which also had links to threads on other BB's like gotapex.com. The only problem people had with this company were slow ship dates and a screwy tracking system. Most problems were cleared up by sending them an email, which was usually answered in less than 24 hours. So, quit with all the negativity unless you have actually had a bad experience with this company, sheesh.

Yah, these cases are nice, I bought the premodded (window + fan on window) Silver one from NewEgg last month, for like $75 shipped or something :/

Yeah, but was everyone happy??

From the other thread you referred to (Dancing Peacock, Platinum Member):
<<I don't think I would purchase from them again. I never got an email confirming shipping. I called to see if it had shipped, and the girl I spoke with was rather rude to me from the get go. I ordered it monday around 1 PM, and it hadn't shipped by Weds. I was miffed b/c on the page it said should ship in 24 hours, and I asked if she could expedite it for me. She told me that it could take longer if she was to pull my order out of the stack and put it at the top. BS. Also, she asked me 4 or 5 times during the course of our 15 minute conversation if I wanted to cancel the order. Twice was understandable but by the 4th and 5th times, I was pissed because I told her the first 3 times that I wanted to keep the order, and told her so. It was a bad experience overall, but the outcome was okay. >>

Personally, I prefer to go to suppliers with good customer service, delivery when promised and no hassles. Sounds like a winner to me... they take your money and you get your product... sometime.

I honestly dont like the look of the 1030's, I prefer the SX8xx.

Amazon.com has the SX800 (w/o PS) for $59.99 plus free shipping, there is also a $5 off $35 coupon at jumpondeals, making it $55 shipped

Everyone has his or her preferences. The Sx800's are pretty much the same, w/out the door cover. I prefer the cover so that it isn't obvious that each of my drives do not match.

Looks like CyberPower posted in John P.'s old thread.

BuyXtremeGear.com is the PC component store for cyberpower and the price is for the general public

Buyxtremegear and cyberpower are one the same company. Cyberpower has bad rating from Better Business Bureau, Buyxtremegear has just plain awful rating from resellerrating. In fact except for the first apparently planted review the rest is just one worse than the other.
It would be wise to avoid both, the lousy reviews are sign of caution enough. Take your risk if you care about few bucks.

Link to case @Amazon?

The case @newegg is a lot more though.

I got this case from cyberpowerpc a few months back and had no problem ordering or receiving it. The problem is with their hideous order tracking and customer support. You have no idea if or when your order is shipped, or when it will arrive. After several email attempts, I FINALLY got the CORRECT tracking #. Hopefully they have done something about this problem.
