*UPDATE* Got my 1800+ DLT3C "JIUHB" ... from newegg! with overclocking results

After hearing several people who got these chips from newegg, I decided to get one too. Ordered the oem and got a AXDA1800DLT3C JIUHB 0304MPMW (same as shims). While the odds are it is not as good as a 0310DLT3C T-bred 1700+, it was alot cheaper and i can't wait to fire this thing up! Too bad i gotta wait until the weekend before that. Will keep you informed. Hope can i hit 2.3ghz at low voltages.

sweet! 🙂

i still have mine sitting in a box on the floor... just waiting to be played with... but i'm still trying to finish up my thesis so no play for me yet 🙁

i redid the arctic silver and cpu today while i was messing around with my ram (which makes no sense but it will in a sec) and my temps dropped a little... about 1 degree...

🙂

prime errors with my new ch-5 chip twinmos...

i'm gonna have to try memtest to make sure this is an okay stick or else it's going back to memoryX and getting a new one...

Alot cheaper?? Am I missing something? The 1700+ is $42 and the 1800+ is $56, according to my math...

My 1800+ from NE is on the way! 🙂

What i meant was this is alot cheaper than compared the 0310 from excaliberpc. The 1700+ from newegg are good but not the best overclockers, hitting anywhere from 2 to 2.2 ghz (2.2 if you feed a lot more juice usually).

Its a brown pcb with a purplish core, does that suggest anything? I won't be able to tinker with this till Friday night.

Brown PCB no, but this site suggests the core color has some indication of OCability. Purplish = decent, according to them.

Just unpacked mine:

AXDA1800DLT3C 9875006280708
JIUHB 0304MPMW

I think the core looks blue under the ceiling flourescent lights, when I look at it under my desk fluorescent light, I'd say it is colorless at some angles and red at others. So, according to the link I posted, reddish/blue cores and white under light = good and should buy immediately! If my eyes aren't deceiving me, Newegg may have some good chips on their hands. Also, it looks like mine is a downgraded 2800+

Naruto, you didn't post the second set of numbers... Can others post the full digits/core color and we'll all compare notes! I'm not an extreme OCer but maybe this chip will make it easy for me! Now I just wish my new heatsink order would have gotten shipped sooner...

edit: typo

So newegg is shipping DLT3C chips now? Damn, if I only waited a week.

EDIT: never mind, i'm an idiot. I thought this was the 1700.

Well, I looked at the core again under incandscent light and now it looks more reddish/purple. Which should still be decent.

We shall see...

right now i'm running 2.3 @1.68v 35 idle and 40 load . This is the 1800 Dlt3 0304 from New Egg.There is more left in this chip, running prime 95 for 3 hours and no errors @ 40c Sweet!!

SWEEEEEEEEEEEEET! I'm gonna fire it up soon, it was a bitch to get rid of that white sticker on the chip (felt paranoid that it would cause overheating problems). Had to use acetone and isoporyl alcohol just to get rid of most of the residue.

If it's good, you should be able to hit around 2.54ghz (maybe higher but that's my max with an XP 1800. I can do either 220x11.5 or 210x12 but nothing higher).

Well it took all day saturday to clean up my computer that was being updated. It was dusty as hell. But finally started to overclock this thing. I'm going 5 mhz at a time on the fsb. So far, i'm at 11.5x166 (~ 1920 Mhz) still at default voltage of 1.5V! This is all on a aluminum SVCGC 68 too! Just checked my idle temps using sandra and they are 34 C (in a cool morning). The ASBII temps on this soltek board are a little higher, since it tries to read the internal chip temp, usually about 10 C higher.

*UPDATE* Now its at 2.07Ghz (still at default voltage)

*UPDATE* hmmmm... I seem to hit my default voltage wall (somewhere between 2.13ghz and 2.18ghz). I'm gonna test 2.18Ghz now with 1.55volts.

I tried going straight for 2.3ghz @ 1.675volts (but it couldn't run 3dmark 2k1). I figured it needed to burnt in and maybe some better cooling. So i'm settled on 2.23ghz (203x11) @ 1.625 volts. I think this chip is solid, as good as many 0310 1700+.

Stable at 2.2ghz (11x200) @ 1.6V. I'll try going for 2.3ghz after it burns in. Temps on a GC68 are 35 C idle, 47 C maximum load.

you're probably best off trying a better heatsink, even though your temps seem okay.

What are your ABSII temps? and how much do those temps change in terms of idle versus load?

PLus, with the small contact surface of a tbred, a copper-based/copper-aluminum hybrid heatsink is likely to give you significantly more o/cing headroom versus a GC68.

Ill invest in a better heatsink soon, ASB II temps are alot higher, since they measure the internal thermal diode, usually from 6 to 10 C higher. But it never gets close to a ASBII shutdown (using default 85C). I also need help getting to 2.3ghz. The first time I tried it wasn't sooo stable using 11.5x200 @ 1.68V. But i kinda jumped it from 190 to 200mhz fsb and up the vcore from 1.55 to 1.675.

I just bought a 1800+ dlt3c for $56, 2x256 corsair xms3200, 8rda+, and a refurb 128mb geforce4 mx all for only 305. I just need to get a good hsf and hit 2.2Ghz, and it'll all be good.
