*UPDATE* Got my 1800+ DLT3C "JIUHB" ... from newegg! with overclocking results

My 2100+ from NE is running supa stable at 233x10 (not sync yet, but I'm getting some DDR466 on da way soon).
I had to crank the Voltage up to 1.8 on the vcore... I don't care if it fries in 9 months. 😛 I'll have a Barton by then.

Temps are 47c load under a SLK900U. (I know, it seems hot compared to the 1700+ temps.)

Cheers!

OK, finally got the heatsink and some time, about 30 minutes 🙂, to put this thing in. Fired it up at default, OK it works. Changed to 133x11 and all was good. Decided to try for the gusto, 200x10... no post. Now that I think about it, if I would have bumped the voltage a little then maybe, but I was just playin' around. I put it back at default for now to get some baseline temps, about 40C with eMule running, no more than 43C while encoding a movie. Keep in mind, I don't have a super-duper cooling machine, but not that shabby. Speaking of encoding, it used to take me about 3 hours for an hour of video, now 2 hours! 😀

I just got my 1800+, but it's a DUT3C JIUHB 0310XPMW, I haven't tried it yet, and I've called Newegg for a replacement because it says on the website a DLT3C. Anyone else get a DUT3C 1800+? It's got a purplish hue to it.
Here are the exact codes:

AXDA1800DUT3C 9390666270436
JIUHB0310XPMW 1999AMD

What do you guys think?

OVERCLOCK IT! See how well it does first @ 1.6vcore then up it to 1.7 and see what you can do there!!!

*dr00l* 0310 1800+...this, I've got to see.

This cpu isn't for me, it's for my cousin so i don't want to use it unless i know it can overclock well and keep it. I'm building a system for her for cheap, and overclocking is as cheap as I can get and still get a 2Ghz system. Do you guys think Newegg will take it back if I've used it?

newegg will take it back if you used it, yes. just say you noticed it was a DUT3C when you were installing a new HSF.

overclock it, too. they cant tell fi you overclocked it unless its fried visibly.

Well, they do state that it's a DLT3C so... if they don't charge a restocking fee and if it makes you feel better, send it back. From what I've read, the DLT3C should OC better, but I think you could still hit 2GHz with the one you have, with good cooling. If you're building her a "cheap" system, what kind of cooling will you have?

I've ordered a volcano 9, it was only $17, and I think it should handle 1.8v at the most.

WHERE!?!?! I've been looking for one that is <$25 shipped.

EDIT: Heh...actually I'm saving up for water cooling or the likes (liquid nitrogen...omGAWD)

Does that mean that it sucks or what? Results plz 😀

I wouldn't say sucks, but from what I've read the DLT3Cs OC "better" because the default core voltage is lower. But, that doesn't mean the DMs don't OC at all... If I recall correctly, still can probably hit 2GHz with it.

Actually I was just looking at AMD's tech docs. The DMT3C is a Model 6 whereas the DL and DU are Model 8. So I checked Newegg again, guess I didn't look that closely before... the DM is a Palomino and the TBred just says, "model AXDA1800", so they are not guaranteeing the DL anymore, but still may get it...

Whoops..my bad... I also took a look at the specs sheet... and in any case M refers to 1.75v..most likely a Pally.. why on earth is Newegg still holding stocks of these??
