The news story states that she was only going to be in town for a few weeks. And that she was extra help at the shop. Likely because the hubby had a broken arm, and she came to help out. So, you probably have seen Nancy and not her cousin.

I also suspect that the perp was something of a regular there. He may have known it was "new help" and was trying to victimize her. An inexperienced employee is more susceptible to thinking they made a mistake. When she behaved competently, and failed to be pressured into letting him have the food without paying, he went from frustration to rage. More support for the above scenario, is that he had the correct change for the transaction as his "proof". But, the video clearly shows (according to LE) he never paid. That would make the "misunderstanding" a premeditated crime. The escalation to the assault, would then be, even more serious than just an uncontrolled outburst of violent behavior, IMO.

I'd have OC sprayed the fuck and stabbed his friend if he was feeling I was worth his attention.

Probably not a great idea to spray pepper spray in a shop with lots of bystanders in.

Same with me.

I witnessed a robbery in progress last year, the manager plus all the male customers, including me, took off after the hooded robber. He dropped the cash box in the parking lot and disappeared into the night. We got his buddy's get away car plate number and the RCMP made an arrest a few days later.
