Hey all,
Updating this thread:
http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview...atid=38&threadid=1548476&enterthread=y
Wednesday night Steve came home from work and asked for a divorce. Steve's precise words were, "We're just two very different people. I'm never going to be able to satisfy your needs. This [marrying you] was a mistake."
Now honestly, in the long term this will be great for her, as those two have never gotten along properly.
She was also surprisingly productive on Thursday, and since Thursday afternoon she's been getting some good girl bonding time with a great mutual friend of ours, Melodie.
So, just thought I'd let y'all know, and if you got any advice on how to support friends going through a divorce, let me know. They did keep separate bank accounts during their time together, and kept their respective property separate too, except the house they jointly bought (she plans to buy out his share of that). So I am hoping the divorce will be somewhat clean...
Cliff notes:
1. Steve asked for a divorce, calls the marriage "a mistake." He's left the house for a few days, and staying somewhere else (I dunno where).
2. She's staying productive. I imagine work is a good escape. Certainly better than drinking!
3. Advice for how to help friends going through divorce? This is the first one of my friends who is having one... my own parents had one but I had no extra support given to me when that happened many years ago.
---
edit: accidentally posted this to hot deals first. sorry about that.
