I don't think so. They had no choice. You can't just stand there and burn. You can't just stand there when you can no longer breathe. You have to do something.

Some undoubtedly fell, as well.

I wouldn't call these suicides.

But this is why no one is calling them jumpers...

I understand what you are saying and I'm sure you wouldn't make it out, but you have a better chance trying to make it out rather than jumping. Jumping is 100% death. Trying to get out might by 99.99% death.

You weren't there, you can't possibly know what they knew. It could be that they heard the building buckling and knew there was no chance of survival... it's not like a fire truck is going to extend a ladder for them to get out. The argument could be made if one person jumped but no, over a hundred of them did which indicates that they knew it was over and that a quick instant death beats having your flesh seared off. If I knew the building was coming down eventually, I'd consider jumping myself just for the comfort of knowing my remains could be recovered before the building went down.

If they willingly jumped, that's technically suicide. Are they going to adjust the body count to reflect suicide / homocide?

I didn't realize it until watching the Nat Geo documentary the other day, but there was one unobstructed stairwell that would have given access to those on the floors above where the plane hit safe passage out. Stairwell "A" I believe they said.

I think you will die of smoke inhalation before being fried. My parents saw three kids burned to death and they said it was horrifying. They said they never heard anyone scream like that before. My father was just hanging out outside the house when he saw smoke coming out of the house. The house had bars over the windows and the kids can't get out eventually burned to death. Two teenager and one 8y.o

did we really have to copy-paste the entire article? i'm sure anand wouldn't like if it you went to someone else's forum and copy-pasted his articles over there.

I made the same suggestion in a Battlefield 3 thread and half the user base berated the shit out of me. People here have no respect for the work of an author.

my apologies. i've just been doing that as a courtesy so people don't have to register on registration required websites or so people don't have to leave atot to read the articles.

I recall some trying to climb over to another room or down to another floor, and losing their grip. So they definitely had not given up.

and that ESPECIALLY goes for places that require registration

The thing they won't talk about is the fact that they used teleguided planes loaded with passengers and equipped with cellphone jammers to make it look like the towers went down due to the planes and not controlled demolition.

christ not this again

It's plausible we didn't even go to the moon. We didn't even prove that we went there, just like the NIST didn't prove that WTC7 fell due to regular office fire.

christ not this again

He has a point... it could be that unknown agents were throwing already dead corpses out the window to divert attention away from the demolitions team. It doesn't make a lot of sense that so many people would jump. :colbert:

how do you feel about JFK's assassination?

I don't know who ordered it or even if someone did order it. However, there should have been a more thorough investigation. Obviously, not everyone can use a sniper without some special training.

almost the hat track, not quite.

in other news, red thermite.

this may sound like a stupid question, but when i visited the WTC you could go outside onto a roof top observation deck. would it not have been possible to get to this from the upper floors and have a helicopter pick people up?

A fat person blocked the emergency stair after he died from exhaustion suffocating the people behind him who were scrambling for the rescue helicopter.
