Rofl. You never gotten a speeding ticket before?

i get speeding tickets all the time.... never plead not guilty to go to trial..

i go to the court on the arraignment day... talk to the ADA... and plead guilty to a lesser charge..

my last speeding ticket was about a month ago... 45 in a 30.... plead down to "failure to yield"

Right, so in my particular case it looks like she wants me to:
1. Not plead guilty first and mail it in
2. DA/Magistrate will offer reduced fine + no points to plead guilty
3. Win

I can't get to 2 if I just plead guilty outright since all this is handled via mail.

Well... if they want you to do it that way... it just seems weird..

every time i've gone to court, they always offer something ... then tell you to plead not guilty if you want it to go to trial..

I suspect it's because the place is a bumfuck nowhere (Amsterdam, NY) and lots of tickets are given out on that countryside I-90 (to the point people told me to watch out, even this forum).

I'm just surprised myself they're being this accommodating to not have to show up.

What was my position in this thread? I'm too lazy to go back and look but I want to make sure I irritated at least one poster.
