I'm used to playing in casinos. Where can you make 1$ bets? Some kind of online thing?
start out at 25 per bet and work your way up until you're putting down 3-400 a hand. Starts coming in REAL quick on a good shoe.
Then again just last weekend I had 300 on the table - dealt 8s vs a dealer 6 (sweet I'm thinking), split....dealt 3 on each 8, double on both. Had 19 and 20 with 1200 on the table.
Dealer turned over a 5. Then a king. ouch.

If you play by the book, it's one of the few games where the odds are in your favor.
Even if you loose or just break even, if you do it right you can play all night and have a good time for under $100. I play the $5 single deck tables, and when I'm doing well I'll throw a few $25 chips out there, and suddenly you've made a few hundred bucks, and if you start loosing just start playing small beans again and stretch it out...
I only left with a couple hundred more than I came in with, but with a little study and just plain old asking the dealer "what does the book say?" you can play for a long time.

What are the By the Book Rules? I know the basics like standing on dealers 5 or 6, but my basic rules didn't seem to help me a month ago when I lost $60

Yes that's true but most casinos (especially online ones) have little rule changes that turn the odds against you even when playing strictly by the book. There is no casino in which BlackJack is in your favor. They simply wouldn't create a game in which the odds are against them...

I have a FOOLPROOF plan and it has worked for me. But you need a table with a LARGE limit and you need a VERY LARGE bankroll. You just bet $1, everytime you lose, you double your previous bet. You will NOT lose this way. But you gotta have big balls to be betting $512 and even more when you have to double that to $1024 if you get on a bad roll.
But it is nontheless a guarentee.

Actually Single deck Blackjack can have have odds "slightly" in your favor if you play by the book... (and find the right table)

but as a general rule you are correct. Blackjack just has the best odds of you playing all night without loosing your ass.
