9500 Pro will have a visit to the FS/FT forums soon enough...

Awesome art work

I may need to upgrade my 9500 Pro to a 9800. Can't wait for this and Halo for PC.

By the looks i don't think so...

It will include all maps from Ut2k3, along with the original sniper rifle, dual assault rifles and vehicles...

I will wait for the next generation of cards...

The 9800 should be cheap by then.. Thats still 4 months away..

There are more new maps shipping in this version of the game than were included in the 2003 edition. And this latest version will include all of the maps from the previous game as well, making the map count almost embarrassingly high.

It probably uses a similar engine.

Unreal and Unreal Tournament used the same engine, though you wouldn't believe it to look at it.
UT2k3 and Unreal 2 use the same engine base, as does Splinter Cell, Ultima X: Online, Deus Ex 2 and other games, as will UT2k4 IIRC, just a tweaked version of the engine base used in the other games, so it will probably look better.

Meh.

If I had it my way, we'd all still be playing Duke 3D and Shadow Warrior. Can't beat the trip mines and sticky bombs.

It uses the latest version of the Unreal Engine, which means, it uses a newer version than that of Unreal2 and Unreal2k3.

Yearly game refreshes are never the way to go... 2K3 looked gorgeous and sucks donkey balls compared to the original. Lets just hope they fix the gameplay as well as tarting it up a bit.

Damn right. and Unreal2 sucked compared to unreal, although it looked great. Maybe if it is just a tweak of 2k3's graphic engine, and they aren't writing a new engine from scratch, then they are spending their time on gameplay instead...

If the gameplay sucked like UT2K3, I wouldn't want it no matter how good it looked.

Is 2K4 going to have those stupid special moves like 2K3 or will it stay like UT?

I never played the original UT, but I play UT2k3 pretty regularly. What is it that original UTers hate about it? Are those stupid special moves you are talking about just dodging? What gives? Oh, and I play low grav 135 speed Instagib Bombing Run and I absolutely love the gameplay and can play for hours on end.

The new game itself will include the entire base game and all levels and modes included in UT2003, but it will have plenty of new features and additions, including more new maps than were featured in the previous game. The new game will also let you use the original Unreal Tournament sniper rifle (which still lacks any serious recoil, but now briefly kicks up a cloud of obscuring dust when it's fired from a zoomed view) and the addition of two gameplay types: the brand-new onslaught mode and the assault mode from the original UT.

GameSpot Link

Looks like the same engine with new player skins and textures. Either way, it looks like the stuff they wanted to accomplish in 2003 but just didn't have the time too. Gun turrets, vehicles, and gaming modes.

Looks like a winner.

Bleh, doesn't look that much better than the original Unreal Tournament to me.

I'll stick to Half Life 2, Doom 3 and Max Payne II

some companies prefer free patches and free community mods. this is a clever way of eliminating all that and milking the consumer
