I'll stick to Half Life 2, Doom 3 and Max Payne II
Ummm... VEHICLES!!! ;)

I agree that HL2 looks awesome, but mark my words about D3... The initial "WOW" of the lighting effects and detailed textures will wear off quickly, leaving you with a very short, "been there, done that", single player FPS. Multiplayer will be incredibly limited, if any at all, out of the box.

True, BUT! It might be so awesome and leave some many people awe struck that it will be a hit...

Umm, for those discussing the engine. You do realise, that the Unreal engine still exists from Unreal 1? It's just up to a ridiculous build number now. I'm sure the engine has probably been completely rewritten a few times by now, but Epic develop the Unreal engine, then use that to make games that will encourage more titles using that same engine. Which of course = more $$$ for Epic.

And Wingznut, good point about D3, I've always thought that id's development on that game was weird. Ever notice that everytime another breaking game is going to come out/announces new features/whatever, Doom3 gets pushed back and a month or so later they announce groundbreaking technology which these other games already have?

Meh.

If I had it my way, we'd all still be playing Duke 3D and Shadow Warrior. Can't beat the trip mines and sticky bombs.
I loved loading that nuke into the rocket launcher... hehehe.

I must say.... I'm not impressed at all. Doesn't look like it's nearly up to par with HL2 or Doom 3.
