I am horrified they would considure this, the last thing we need is any guns on a college campus, having armed police it self is unsettleing (but I understand needed), now they want to arm faculty.

If my university did this, their would be huge protest.

You obviously do not posses the intelligence to continue posting here. I am tired of you trolling through Off Topic as if it were your own private fishing spot. Go troll someone else's forum.

Also VTech should have made people realize having guns on campus is a dangerous thing.

Shocked they would propose this after VTech.

Except that Vtech has a "no guns on campus' rule which made sure no one could stop the killer.

Since every crazy killer walks up to a school and goes

"Oh, a no gun allowed sign..hmm..well, guess I'll go home and fap some more instead, don't want to break any rules'

VA Tech is a gun free campus. If they had faculty who were carrying, a lot less people would have died.

I don't know why I am responding to a thread created by you but...

One thing any THINKING person will realize is one only sees mass shootings and shooting sprees in places where the general public is UNARMED and/or guns are banned.

You NEVER see these where people are armed. When was the last time you heard of a successful shooting spree at a gun show? A gun range? A police station?

Nope, only in places and localities where the victims are sure to be unarmed.

Shooting sprees are impossible if the intended victims are armed. Shooting sprees are a prime example of why CCW is a GOOD idea.

In response to the shootings at VT, A guy in P&N advocated that everyone be armed. It seems to me that the more guns people have the more people will get shot.

Guns and people getting shot is a first order reaction.

Your logic is flawed. More guns mean LESS crime, especially violent crime. In fact, in every locality in which CCW permits are issued, violent crime, especially gun crimes DROPPED. Unarming victims merely makes them easy targets. And gun bans ONLY disarm the law abiding. Criminals are not affected by gun bans at all. In fact, they love gun bans.

Police can only RESPOND to a crime, they can't stop one from happening. You would need one in every room to do that. This is the next best thing.

Somebody certainly would have shot that Vtech shooter a lot sooner, that's no doubt. However you should also consider, having the gun in the hands of someone not trained to use it the way a police officer would, could result in them accidentally shooting a bystander. I suppose having armed teachers trained to use the weapons correctly could work. At the same time though, they have just become targets if someone deicdes they're still going to go on a rampage. Then just shoot the professors first.

You sir are correct. Why is this so hard for people to understand?

You can just flap your Jabba the Hutt like arsenal of chins at a potential assailant and they will flee.

Yes, because having rules against having guns on campus is really effective.

Lived and worked in Vegas for many years as a medic, many of you know this.

It is VERY easy to get a CCW permit, my guess is a lot of them already carry. And it's not like you just get one, you need to be trained first.

"I fear for my life with all these school shootings."
"OK, here's a permit."

actually Nevada is one of the HARDEST states to get a CCW (hardest as in most intesive, not as in laws stopping it) and is good, because almost EVERY state recognizes the Nevada CCW (so you can carry in nearly every state).

Boulder City, just to the East will give them to anybody with a clean history. My friend was a deputy sheriff there and said they couldn't keep up with all the classes. I don't know how it is in the rest of the state, but in Vegas and it's surrounding cities you would be shocked how many people carry, legally.

That's the wet dream of the sheep dogs in this country. More eyes keeping tabs on the sheeple.

Besides cops have no duty to protect the individual. (There have been court rulings about this.) As seen by VT and Columbine all the po-po does is "containment" of the massacre. If you are on the wrong side of the containment zone you're on your own. Pray you're lucky enough to be carrying several rounds of your favorite hollow-points.
