This is incorrect. The protests had started long before the Russian bots got involved. All they did was make it worse.

Oh I do. I'm also aware that Mizzou is not Duke, or even UVa or UM level when it comes to out-of-state enrollment. I would bet that those coming from out-of-state are also coming from neighboring states rather than bastions of liberalism.

IIRC the protests were started by an event that didn't actually happened. Then they were pumped up by Russian bots. I am normally a big supporter of protests, but the Mizzou one seemed more like protesting for the sake of it with pretty over the top demands. The president also left basically so the basketball team would play, which to me clearly says sports come first.

It also hurt the school that many professors got involved and made fools of themselves and the protesters targeted unrelated kids.

The school was put in a bad situation and handled it very poorly.
