Religion...

Only religion can makes someone who just climbed through 12 years of public schooling - while working on the last 4 that are the most important.... On the brink of being a successful adult...

All to completely throw it away....under the belief that you will be "saved"....

Only religion can someone put justification like that in someones mind.....

What religion did James Holmes follow? I bet being an angsty virgin is a better indicator than religious conviction when it comes to indiscriminate college violence.

And where does holding your virginity often come from?

Not saying I don't get your point, but still. I still feel like most shit ultimately stems from religion.

Hell, I held my v-card all the way through college and I didn't feel like raping or shooting up the place.

I seriously doubt this guy was the pious and chaste type. "Described as a loner" = anti-social/socially anxious/etc guy that didn't know how to interact with people and resented them for it. I fit a similar profile to a lot of these guys too, but of course only a minority of a minority of a minority actually have the pent-up rage to do things like this.

The majority of the USA is religious and doesn't feel like raping or mass shooting either btw.

Again, I *MAGICALLY* fit in that pocket as well as far as anti-social. I'm a complete introvert and pessimistic. In general, I avoid unnecessary social situation at all costs (except my job... damn my job... and it requires social interactions :( ).

I don't think "we" are as minority as you believe. We didn't go ape-shit nuts did we? Why would this guy based on his social status?

I'm much more willing to believe religion.

Look at Elliot Rodgers, that recent guy in Oregon, pretty much anything discussed on 4chan's /r9k/ board, etc. For those of us that are natural introverts it's not so bad because we're pretty content using ATOT to fulfill our basic social needs and doing whatever else with the rest of our free time. For people that feel that they absolutely must live up to society's standards of spending X amount of time drinking with the bros, partying, getting laid, etc, but find themselves completely unable to do any of that, they get frustrated. Same thing with people "going postal", they find themselves stuck in a dead end job, don't get along with their coworkers, can't afford any of the things they desire, and so from their distorted perspective they have no where to go but destroy what they can't have and those that have it. Some will still turn to religion (iirc there have been anti-social white dudes that literally joined ISIS, certainly there are people that blame the sexual liberation for not being able to find a partner, etc), but there are so many other boxes that have to be checked for people to snap like this.

Wrong.

Turns out he was angry over being kicked out of a study group:

Nope.

The most common trait among all these mass murderers is that they are males.

The next most common trait is that they are mentally unbalanced/socially awkward.

So the people you should fear the most are really ATOT posters. ;)

Forgot to add in the quote:

A two-page "manifesto" in Mohammad's pocket during an autopsy listed a specific target he planned to attack for removing him from a study group, Warnke told reporters, adding he had scripted the attack events, listing details of action and lines he planned to say.

Mohammad intended to tie students up with plastic zip-tie handcuffs and wait for a police officer to enter by a door where petroleum jelly would be on the floor to make the entrance slippery. He would ambush and stab the officer, steal a gun and start shooting students, Warnke said.

"He had a pretty elaborate idea of what he wanted to do," Warnke said, explaining he was upset because he got kicked out of a study group.

what the hell? that's a nutso plan. Why not just go buy a gun legally like everyone else in the US and get to work?

Why the elaborate McGuyver plan to acquire a gun in the middle of an attack?

every time i take that test it pegs me right in the middle of the sociopath bucket, i find that comical. its true and i don't plan on killing anyone
and we are not a minority, IIRC introverts outnumber extroverts but we do a great job at faking it when we have to (work)

Assuming that the mentally ill think with a form of logic that the rest of would readily understand is a mistake. It took several years to convince my wife of that when she would get so flabbergasted at what my bipolar sister was doing or saying.
