University incident - 5 stabbed

Finally! I've totally been waiting for this to happen so I could justify my opinion of some other loosely related events.

That's what happens when only one person has a knife. If they all had knives this wouldn't have happened ... right?

Please keep the P&N crap style of comments limited to P&N and out of Off Topic. Thanks.

My boss' husband was in the building when it happened. This morning the LEO's here were going nuts and nobody really knew what was going on. Pretty crazy. Usually Merced's in the news for top 10 foreclosure cities or drought. Now we can add this to the list!

Seriously though, this is pretty sad and hopefully no one else dies.

I guess my "back in my day we didn't use calculators" line isn't so great in the face of "Well when I go to school I have to wear body armor" all these kids get you use now.

CNN just reported this. UC Merced in California. 5 students stabbed, assailant killed. Said all 5 are alive and being treated. That's all there was.

Hope they're all okay.

edit.
article now available: http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news...er-stabbing-spree-uc-merced-officials-n457276

Two victims have been airlifted to hospital, three were treated at the school.

Off tangent, but I have always been curious about what makes something a P&N topic and what then is allowed in Off-topic. Because this seems to be more of a Politics & News thread to me. Just want to know this difference so I can put future posts in the right forum.

I posted it here because there are always so many pro/anti gun nuts in P&N effing up the threads. I didn't realize how many of them had escaped. 🙁
