Is this the same as uninsured motorist?
Thanks

Under-insured is when your damages exceed the amount of insurance the other driver carries.

For instance in Maryland, minimum insurance is 20,000. Someone smashes into you, causing serious injuries. The other driver's insurance pays out the full 20,000, but your medical bills are 30,000. That's when you file a claim for the other 10,000 against your Under-insured provision of your own policy, so you can at least pay off your bills.

Why wouldn't you? It's cheap and probably the most important part about having car insurance, since someone without insurance probably doesn't have money for you to sue for anyway.

Supplementary Uninsured Motorist $25,000/$50,000 $10.10 $10.10 $10.10 = $30 (3 vehicles) for 6 mo.

Those mofos.

I was hit by an uninsured motorist when I was 17, so well worth it..couple K worth of damage..damn you illegals!!

Although Tennessee requires insurance for all drivers... somehow illegals are exempt from this law. So uninsured motorist insurance is a must.
