Uninstalled Firefox. It sucks.

It's funny when people blame their own inability to do something on the software.

My food won't cook itself, therefore my food sucks.

You mean how most people blame IE for most of the problems they experienced in using it?

I prefer a non-bloated, efficient, fast browser. (ie, IE)

If you try to design some websites, all the flaws in IE will surface and it's annoying as hell. There are many documented (and undocumented) rendering bugs in IE while there are probably just a couple of rendering problems in Mozilla. Since it's open source, it actually get fixed if someone notices it, unlike IE.

Find me one website that I can't view properly in IE that I can view properly in Firefox/Mozilla. I have NO problems with IE right now. By all accounts, it works perfectly for me.

Uhhh.. looks fine...what's your point?
Link 1: scroll down IE. Then in FF.
Link 2: hover over the link in IE, then in FF.

No browser is perfect. I was a diehard Netscape user until the bloated 4.0 piece of garbage. That was when I finally forced myself to try IE4 and unlike Netscape 4.0 it did not crash every third page I loaded. I made the switch and have been using IE ever since. I downloaded Firefox a couple weeks ago and personally I think it is pretty nice, especially the tabbed browsing feature. If MS does not finally fix the stupid save picture as bug I may force myself to make the switch again. That is the single most annoying thing I have run into with IE6.

Yeah, that's what happens when you save the pictures to the desktop and forget to upload them. The links work now that nobody cares any more. On the bright side, if I would have found out about this last night, I would have spent about an hour trying to figure out what was wrong whereas this morning I was able to do it in 2 seconds.

i have problems with scrolling too, worse with smooth scrolling on.
it scrolls, but not until the entire page loads and after a few seconds.
everything else is fine but until they fix that, i'll be sticking with IE.

that, and the fact that it doesn't remember the position of your last page if you hit back.

hopefully winxp sp2 will fix some things in IE, like pop ups and activeX controls (spyware).

Yes, it does (but one is free, and one is not).

indeed.

one delievers ads, and the other blocks ads.

opera blocks adds and it is also can be free
It's adware. Not free. I'm not saying anything about it as a browser itself. Currently it is the only browser more advanced, more standards-compliant, and more stable than Firefox. However, you pay or deliver ads.
personally, if I were designing web pages and making money off it, I'd gladly pay, as it has some great easy to get to features for such stuff. But not doing that, I'd rather use a free, adless browser.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that one. I guess I'm just getting used to it. If I refresh a page, specifically here where the page length changes, it doesn't remember where I was on the page. It just scrolls to the same percentage of the way down the page so I have to scroll back up to find the last post that I read.

A real screenshot, not what looks like 16-color button.

I prefer tv.yahoo.com
No registering, quicker than that site, and works fine in anything from NS3 to FF 0.8. Oh, and IE, too.
That's what the page looks like. It's only like two colors. If you want me to post an entire 1600x1200 screenshot, that's fine, but I can almost guarantee that people will be mad. Give me a few minutes and I'll post a comparison between IE and FF.
Alright, here you go. I still cropped it a little, but I'm giving a little more data.

Firefox
IE

My other problem is that links don't work if a webpage is in the middle of loading.
I don't know how that page is set up, but it could be Mozilla's infamous table bug.
very clear example

Win XP SP2 is great so far. I'm running RC1 for the past few days and i've happy with it.

Sp2 does block pop ups. It has a little alert thats built into the top of the browse window that will indicate when a window has been blocked. It allows you to open it if you want to.

As far as IE being non compliant, I see this as good thing in many cases. Humans and most people out there simply don't design websites correctly. That's human nature. It's nice to have a browser that can make up for those errors and still render a viewable page. I used to use Mozilla, but now i'm IE only. It does great and seems to be getting much better with SP2.

That's not a problem, and they do have the best engine when it comes to predicting what the dumb designer meant.
However, they should be able to keep that and still add functionality.
The problem isn't that IE can make up for mistakes: it's that IE can't do many things that it should be able to do when people design things by the standards. Nothing except MS giving up on IE until Longhorn keeps this from happening.
I wouldn't be suprised if IE is now as much of a mess as NS4 became...which would be a good reason to start over, but it still sucks we'll have to wait until '07 to use features that have been set in stone for over 5 years now.

im using the old firebird still since i dont have to install.. its nice when a program is stand alone.

tabbed browsing is sweet if you know the shortcuts, hit ctrl-left click to open a link in a new tab.. much faster for browsing news/game/anand links that constantly right clicking and selecting "open in new window" . oh and ctrl w is close tab.. nice.

another great feature is that it eliminates that stupid ass IE bug that saves JPEGS into untitled.bmp whe you try to save a picture! IE has been doing that for 8 goddurn years ;P

one last one is printing is much easier, those html pages that wouldnt print on one page width and youd get like 25% on another set of paper (got that alot in my college helpdesk) are scaled all PDF style within the print settings, soo nice.

whats the diff between firebird and firefox btw cept for the damn install>?

I don't believe it is, as they fixed it in recent nightly builds, and my version still sees the TVGuide table strangenees.

You can still get FireFox in zip form.

The main differences are improved stability and a new download manager (which some people don't like, but I don't mind it). You will likely have to reinstall any themes and extensions you had (it may be best to simply use a fresh profile).

Wow, the nightly lacks the bug, but renders tables slow as molasses. Back to vanilla 0.8 now.

I like FF, and have started using it since it was last FB, I've tried Mozilla and didn't like it as much.

People just tried too hard to be different with Firefox. It's nothing revolutionary like everyone made it out to be. So they finally came out with something on par with IE and a couple features that are newer. Yet it sounded like it was the next big Internet movement. *shakes head*
