Very nice Elfear! Are those clocks on air?

Thanks Face2Face.

Ya that run was on air. The Lightning cooler is amazing. Highest temp I saw at 1.35V was ~78C and the VRMs only hit ~60C with the fans at 80%/70%/80%. With my 24/7 settings (1350/1650 1.2V and fans at 70/60/70) max temp is ~60C and VRMs are ~52C.

I'm really hesitant to sell the card but LTC mining is just too tempting. I'll have some Radeon results up soon.

You can't bench/game while you mine, why not keep the 780 and get some Radeons for dedicated mining in another rig?

I'm hoping I can add some 780 Ti classified results later this week, wish me luck in the shopping cart melee...

OT: Anyone know what time newegg updates their listings when new cards come out?

Looking forward to seeing the numbers that beast will produce. So you going through will it huh?.. $800 for a 28nm card....:hmm:

Never ran this before but it looks like Oblivion complete with the grass pop up 3 feet in front of you..

oh boy, that is on air? ithought it was watercooled, cause your signature says custom h2o, clocks indicated, too. don´t the review sites claim 1250 was real good? probably without voltage tweak then
...impressed...

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/MSI/GTX_780_Lightning/29.html

these guys claim, their maximum overclock is 1120MHz
they´re speculating it might go as high as 1350MHz on water or LN2
looks like you got yourself a golden sample 🙂
or they are talking more stressfull stability benchmark (i´ll read)

this sounds different:

"These numbers resulted in a real-time in-game GPU frequency of 1280MHz and a memory frequency of 6.6GHz. The voltage remained at 1.150v. The max temp stayed at 77c. With the fans at 100% temps were at 55c."
http://www.hardocp.com/article/2013/09/22/msi_geforce_gtx_780_lightning_video_card_review/3

maybe the techpowerup people didn´t set the fans higher? but why would they call it "overclocking" then and in the next sentence fantasizing about LN2

edit: yeah, it says default fan settings inside a case...

first thing i do when i get a new video card is set the fan control to an incline that hits 100% at 80°C

I'm expecting another GK104/Tahiti showing for the first year, only worse since 20nm is a bit of a joke in of itself.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go fail at playing AC4 on my 9800 GT. 😉

Back on familar turf with the green team. sold off my 290's. Decided the heat/noise is not worth it.

Haven't seen any yet.

Running BF4 with everything max out, even resolution scale @ 200% at 1080. And it holds pretty much at 60 fps.

And if you compare my score it seems to be inline with other users.

Notice my core speed is stock so I have not oc it all.

Changed my overclock settings to straight 4.4ghz with power saving off since I kept getting crashes in Valley which used not to happen in Win 7...and doing so resulted in almost 1 more fps in Win 8.1. Not a huge increase, but nonetheless...any increase is good. New record for me.

89 FPS

My main card will do 1306 alone, and my bottom one will do 1293 alone...but together they won't do 1306/1293...so 1293/1280 seems to be the best I can get out of the cores. I haven't tried to push the memory faster than 7.6 ghz. I may be able to get 7.7 ghz, but I doubt it.

The card is obviously crazily VRAM quantity limited, since the card runs fine in some of the test and goes down to 1 fps constantly in other parts.

Upgrading to this card from my 290x/290 because the Nvidia drivers render DirectDraw properly.
Also so I don't have to touch anything to game while mining.
AOE2, AOE1, Lords of the Realm time 😀

EDIT: Oops, didn't notice the requirements changed since I last read this thread. Here ya go.
