Topic Title: "Unfortunately, only US citizens are eligible to register to vote."
Topic Summary: from BHO's website.

You're beyond desperate. Please explain why the word, "unfortunately" is anything other than a casual, polite word in the context of informing people that only citizens are elegible to vote.

Must have been a "slip".

The slips you're seeing are McCain and Palin's credibility, along with their ratings. Neither of them can open their mouth without changing feet.

Actual clips of McCain and Palin speaking are are the best ads Obama could run.

Hey, at least now we know that CAD is a Michelle Malkin bot.

 Her's is one of the MANY sites I visit daily. There is not "bot"ness involved.

As for those that can't read(or just can't comprehend) - I did not make a BIG deal about this. I stated it was yet another example of the liberal one world BS. Will BHO or democrats/liberals admit it - no but it has been building one small piece at a time. So save your trolling and whining - I made no over-reach at all. A simple "sorry" would have been better and just as polite but they chose "unfortunately". IMO, FORTUNATELY non-citizens can not register(or atleast aren't supposed to). There is no "unfortunately" about it.

Oh STFU. You'd have harped on him if it said "sorry" too.

"OMG, Obama thinks we should apologize to foreigners for not be able to vote!!"

Idiot.

No, I wouldn't have even pointed it out because "sorry" is a lot different than "unfortunately". Unfortunately gives the impression that you'd like to but can't. Sorry can mean that but also just be a polite rebuff.

The only Idiots here are the people twisting what I said or trying to claim I meant more than I stated. F'n blind hack.

What would you have liked to see?

Are ever going to read what I post before asking questions?

Hint: see bolded text.

"I stated it was yet another example of the liberal one world BS. "

No, you are reading into it far too much. People start "Unfortunately" for a lot of things, sometimes genuine, sometimes sarcasm, sometimes a motherly or sympathetic tone, you are completely off your rocker with this assertion :0

From reading CAD's comments in this thread, I think your use of the word "sorry" offends him as he is apparently opposed to civility in society.

How could anyone let this sort of thing "slip" onto a site like that? There is no reason for that type of wording unless you really do think it's unfortunate that non-citizens can't vote in our elections...

Pathetic....

You know what's pathetic? That you're trying to make this some sort of issue.

How could Obama reasonable expect anybody to be dumb enough to make an issue over the word "unfortunately?" It takes a whole new breed of blind partisanship to raise an issue over this website. Congratulations.

The fact that you make fun of libs with BDS while simultaneously making a thread about something so inconsequential is, well, the highest form of irony. And lunacy. Congrats, you are partisan hack of the week!

Actually I can explain to you very easily. It's very unfortunate for people who are citizens of another country that they can't vote. The reason is because depending on who gets elected president, we may or may not invade their country. Also the US economy has a link to the global economy, and an incompetent administration can effect the economy enough to make it worse and thus make the world economy worse. And we all know McCain has made statement threatening Russia, that he wants to be in Iraq 100 years, that he wants to bomb Iran, and that he doesn't understand the economy.

Physician, heal thyself. This thread is a good example of why so many young Americans think the Republican party is full of idiots (a sentiment I do not personally share).

You just proved his #1 agenda item is to let everyone in the world vote!

If you had a clue you would recognize that as standard workding for such a situation.]

Go up to a restaurant as they're closing and ask if you can eat. If they say no they'lll probably say 'unfortunately, they can no longer serve you'.

That doesn't mean they secretly want to. It means it's unfortunate for you and they're polite.

I'm surprised they didn't just skip the translation and keep it in Spanish.

Go through the spanish version of the registration. I don't speak/read spanish so I don't know what it would say.

I translated it for you. It says:

"Comrades, the date of our secret plan approaches to rid the world of the white devil."

Don't know why anyone is surprised by this thread given the GOP fetish for voter suppression.

Yeah, it would be much better if they had written, "Fuck off, only US citizens are eligible to register to vote."

Or rather just drop the "Unfortunately" off.... but that would make too much sense. Must have been a "slip".

You are really reaching. Its just being polite. I use it in support all the time. "unfortunately" you dont have access to that information. "unfortunately" you are going to lose all of your data. Its not there to indicate he iwshes they could vote... its just common politeness.
