The labor force is small... if it were the same as it was in January 2009, then the unemployment rate would be 10.7%.

January 2009, OH you mean when the economy was in a full blow Depression thanks to the right wing administration and their banker friends? And you're saying that in less than 4 years we managed to go from a Depression to having the lowest unemployment rate since that happened?

Yeah, that is horrible!

True, but it's not all roses. Repubs will still attempt to pamper the Rich at the expense of everybody else, to increase inequality every chance they get. It's all weaker govt, jerb creators, deregulation, & trickledown all the time. If 90% of growth can go to the top .01%, it's what they call progress.

I think what he was trying to say is that the employment rolls have shrunk since 2009.

With the Obammacare taxes coming this year, and the threat of a fiscal cliff, and O'Bamma threatening to just let the Bush tax cuts expire, how do you expect business to react? A lot of businesses will just close down next year. To top it off the EPA is shutting down a lot of Coal Power Plants. How will this help the poor people looking for work? This is all caused by Democratic Madnes...

No shit, would you work for minimum wage? Didn't think so. So what, people left the workforce. Guess what? They needed to. Not every adult in America needs to work.

And if the labor force returned to the same size as in 1970 it would be 4%. And around 2.5% if you went down to 1965 leves.

Job creation.
Thank you for directly answering my question. I would argue that job creation is a means to an end...which is a low unemployment rate.

In my opinion, it's irrational to castigate Bush for a low job creation rate when the unemployment rate was reasonably low most of his term.

Dear OP

Obviously you've taken a biased source that twists facts to make Barack "Hussein" Obama look like he's anything but a disaster for the economy and are trying to indoctrinate us into facistic socialism

Please stop...

A lot of people have stopped looking for jobs and just given up so they aren't included
As well the government has fudged the numbers around before so they cant be trusted here

Lastly the government cant create jobs, they can only redistribute wealth

I think the better question is how can Obama be responsible for fixing the economy when the Republicans obstructed him from doing so?

Did you ever stop to think that maybe things are doing better because of, rather than in spite of, government inaction?

Not in my opinion because if Tax cuts did lead to Job creation in theory we should have almost nonexistent unemployment when in a non recessionary period.
