Does anyone have a feeling they will never actually say the magic 10% number? They will stop at 9.9784% before they say 10% no matter how bad it gets.

You mean like close the loopholes that help companies outsource.
Them evil "liberals" tried but Republicans blocked it.

AGAIN what have republicans done to help and not make it worse?

hmm... yet but somehow they were able to pass obamacare... interesting...

liberals fault is to keep paying them unemployment benefits without trying to do something to get their jobs back and hoping the situation will fix itself.

Well at least this is a little more honest than your first response in this thread but still, we see no culpability for the GOP? Despite the pony show, they keep paying those pesky UE benefits, too.

ya its all bush's fault, so let just sit on out asses and throw money at the monster that bush created hoping it would eventually go away. stop blaming and start taking responsibility.

It worked for the Great Depression

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:US_Federal_Debt.png

Maybe it could very well work again this time around.

People need to wake up and think, we are in a recession which is going to result into two things:

Loss of Jobs
Increased Debt

As far as I know the President isn't a magician, if we don't have increased debt we will have an even higher unemployment rate. Pick your poison.

It was a statement made to justify to the american people that the money was neededand would put a brake on the unemployed trend.

Obama made no qualifications or waffling on the 9% statement. It was the cornerstone on which he sold/buffaloed the public.

you mean sorta/kinda like WMD?

Deflect much? Still waiting since you seem to have all the answers...

stop sending and prevent US from having bending over to IMF. If we cant fix the unemployment problem and not have have a solution atleast stop throwing money at it and increase the speed of impending doom.

And YOUR idea is to just let the US implode on itself and that will fix it by itself. :D

ppl in those times were looking for work and wanted to work. those were honorable ppl, not a bunch of imported poor ppl who want govt to feed them. Please do not disgrace them. Also compare the population of that time with today. One big project was enough at that time to get the wheel spinning. Also we did not have the risk of govt created jobs to be outsourced and boost Chinese economy. Money spent here stayed here

Something funny:

stock price $ change % change
DJIA 11,362.41 +106.63 +0.95
NASDAQ 2,579.35 +29.92 +1.17
S&P 500 1,221.53 +15.46 +1.28

Not sure where your numbers are from, the charts I'm seeing show the market in the red all day so far and presently mildly negative. But definately this week's rally is now stalled and I'll admit my call was wrong. Why it was wrong I don't know-90% of the time that would have been a good call. Perhaps the overall rally is stronger than I've been thinking. Calling the market is like weather forecasting, sometimes it moves completely contrary to where every indicator expects it to go.

You to?

Ha ha you do know that picture proves my point. Long term jobs/market conditions are not over night. i.e. all that is based on the previous 4-10+ years.

Common sense, so rare it’s a super power.

Commonsense you say? well... common sense also dictates that you look at both side of the coin. Let me know if you need help deciphering my statement

All you do is ramble and then deflect.
Still waiting for your proof that this whole mess happened in the last 2 years and had nothing to do with the Republican rule for 6+ years.

That literally doesn't make any sense.

I scoff at the 10yr graphs. Here's a 60yr graph.

You are such a moron... are you even trying to understand what this thread is about and what i am trying to say? Its NOT ABOUT WHO CREATED THE PROBLEM. Its about the solution, and what we are doing now is correct or not. Even your master moved away from blaming bush and trying to focus on the problem at hand.
