Underclocking Ram?

Just out of curiosity here. I have a fifty dollar credit over at my local frys. There is some generic pc3200 ram for $60 I think. If I spend a bit more, I can grab that sucker. Here's where my curiosity kicks in, I just want 166fsb instead of 200fsb. If I get the generic pc3200, underclock it to pc2700, would it be able to handle all the lowest timings in pc2700 mode?

Wait you mean the fastest timings right? Yeah that's what most people do anyway... they get PC3200 @ 3-3-3 then run it as PC2700 @ 2-2-2. Don't know about the generic ones at FRY's though... the only memory i get there is cheap PC133 for those rare times i deal with an SDRAM box... but some of those things can run 150 with no problems.

get some geil ddr 400 for 55 bucks, that stuff is awesome.
