Let me get this straight. You bought him alcohol, and you're surprised that he's drinking it?
 
6 kids got busted for DUI/underage back in my home town.. for most of them it was their 2nd of 3rd offense .. Go figure. A little drinking when you're responsible about it I can understand, but some people are just so stupid.

second, i have been getting drunk since i was 12 and im just fine.

I think 16 yrs old is a little TOO old; the US sets age limits on drug usage (cigs and booze) and its youth will always try to subvert those limits. It's your job as an elder to explain what booze can do and what damage excessive usage can cause. In Europe, one can drink beer at the age of 6+; you don't see a lot of 10 yr old alcoholics in Europe. Drinking is not a rite of manhood.

meh. what r u going to do. If i go into somewhere and they card me i just go back outside and ask someone to buy it for me. Just let them keep the change.
 
no im not mad... i was just surprised he did it in my house... and was very blunt about it...

i used to buy him alcohol here and there, but now I'm a Dad and stuck between a rock and a hardplace.

Does your school paper have a police section?

Ours do, I'm pretty sure it's only on Mondays though. So last Monday's paper listed out all the arrests from the week before. There were about a dozen people arrested and all but one were for MIP. The remaining one was arrested for shoplifting a text book from the university bookstore lol.
