Is NBC run by complete idiots? I turn on NBC to watch the British Grand Prix, which is underway and being recorded, and what are they showing? The highlights and results of the race I want to watch which they haven't aired yet. MORONS!!!

I turned on the TV just in time and saw Lewis' car. I hit mute and ran away from the TV.

Bad enough they don't show it live, load it full of commercials (bbc/sky have none. Ok, different but still)... But the highlights right before the race is just plain idiotic. And they don't show it live so they should know!

It's also annoying that right after a commercial break, the commentators talk about how awesome the action was that we missed and we won't see a replay of 🙁

Happened to me in the last race when they didn't broadcast live.

As much as I wasn't a fan of Speeds coverage in prior years, at least they didn't do stupid shit like this.

Anyway. I watched mine on BBC coverage 😉

I woke up at 5am saturday to discover tour de france on, and googled to find qualifying could be viewed live on nbc sports website. Except for the life of me I couldnt figure out how to actually watch a stream on pc. Android app just force closed after a couple minutes of being unable to find the stream again.

Had the taped delay race scheduled on my dvr, except it was more tour de france when I tried to watch it. Downloaded the Sky feed later in the day at that point.

Yeah, they suck. Their DVR coding always seems to be messed up, so my recordings are invariably missing the very end. At least in this case I got the entire race, but missed all the post-race interviews and the podium presentations.

I had the same thing but the tour stuff only lasted about 30 min and then it went back to F1 coverage. I extend my recordings at least an hour now to account for NBC stupidity.

there's spoilers everywhere for taped delay stuff unfortunately. you basically can't look at anything.

Judging from the comments on that link about the live showing on a different channel, a ton of other people were confused 🙂 I was totally thrown off by it, staying at my GF's house and searched her cable to see the show wasn't live.. so I just decided to wake up a few hours later. Next time I'll search harder.

Edit - I agree, I stay off Facebook, ignore texts etc. until I watch the race. But tuning in minutes before an encore and seeing the results on the same channel is just downright bad programming. I actually enjoyed watching the Tour de France a lot this weekend so I can understand why the channel stuff got messed up however..

It's run by Democrats, so yes, it's run by complete idiots.

people I know who really care about that stuff watch it live on sky or whatever regardless of the hour of the night it happens in.

I know people like that. I think they're nuts. Only F1 race I'll get up to watch live is Monaco if I'm out in Palm Springs where I don't have access to a DVR and the race is on at 4:30AM.

Seriously though, is it too much to ask that the station broadcasting the race not broadcast spoilers before they broadcast the race? Even if it is a re-airing?
