i got my wii about 1.5 years ago. I played it pretty solid for about 5 months then got bored with it (great system but needs some better games) and it sat around.
in march of this year (linky to me whinning!) i had a read error. OK i bitched and cried and payed $25 and sent it in. it played great and i got bored again.
Well my daughter got a princess game for a gift we go to play it and i get the same damn error yet again (this was on like the 6th). i call Nintendo and they say they willm ake sure its fixed this time. i mail it in (free this time) and get it back the Saturday i think. we go to play it last night and guess what? SAME DAMN ERROR. BUT this time it had scratched up my disk. i didn't notice on wii sports and i had tried wii play (no big loss) and super Mario galaxy. All have big circle scratches on them.
i call and they say to send it in again and they will fix it. i was pissed off. Finally they say they will ship me a unit that has been repaired at Nintendo and not a 3rd party shop. i will then send my unit back.
BUT i lose all my games i downloaded to the system and what wii points i have not used (over $40 worth of stuff).
i said that it was not acceptable. why should i lose the games i downloaded because they can't build/repair the system correctly. she said the only way they could do it is if i send in the system and they attempt to fix it yet again. i said that was not acceptable either. they have had 2 try's to fix it and they have not been able to.
i mentioned i have been a long time Nintendo owner and had 3 DS's and that i feel like my loyalty was only earning me a screwing.
she said she would talk to management again and see what she could do.after about 20 minutes on hold she said they would be able to credit me the wii points if i still had the card. i said thats impossible since i purchased the card well over a year ago. she said then she can't help. Again i asked to talk to a manager because this was not acceptable.
She said she would see if there was anything she can do. another 20 minutes on hold and she said i will be credited the wii points.
she said i will receive the new one in a few days and put the old on in and ship it back. i asked if the new games would be in she said no. that the scratched games are not part of it. i mentioned they were fine BEFORE the attempted "repair". she put me on hold yet again and said she will RMA them and if damaged they will send me new ones.
So far this system has cost me lots of time for little amount of playing. I am not impressed with Nintendo's CS either. i think I'm done having it repaired and will write it off. the damn system and CS is a joke.
