...Because it has become an enduring racial issue. The black community and many liberals are making a spectacle of themselves for ignoring the facts of the case and are desperate to find a way to blame evil whitey for all of the black community's ills.

This ^^^

It even has happened here at P&N.

People that supposedly are professionals, college educated, etc still refuse to grasp the concept that Zimmerman was found not guilty of charges that should not have been filed.
And that Martin willingly contributed to the result.

Race Hoax: Zimmerman Described as 'White Boy' on MSNBC

fgjkfjk.png

by John Nolte 23 Aug 2013

Friday morning, while filling in on MSNBC for anchor Thomas Roberts, NBC News' Craig Melvin chose not to correct a guest who falsely described George Zimmerman, the Florida man recently acquitted for the fatal shooting of Florida teenager Trayvon Martin, as a "white boy."

Zimmerman is Hispanic ...

Hispanic just means from Spanish origins. That doesn't mean Mexican, Cuban, or Brazilian only or something. It can mean people that actually live in Spain. Guess what? Spain is in Europe and the majority of people from there are white. They may not be "fair" in their skin coloration as much as more northern European countries, but they are Caucasian.

So as shorty points out, many people don't seem to know what the words mean. However, George is not pure "Caucasian" as if that has any significance.

I see absolutely no harm in this ...

Besides .. It's not even over yet ... DOJ, for example, is not done with it yet.

LOL ... Maybe you should go tell DOJ not to beat on this "dead horse" ... I dare you ... :p

DOJ don't post here, you do.

edit Weekly check on this site -done, nothing worth the mention but darkman's indignation.

Basically this. They are just stumbling hoping they find some way to keep blaming the people they were blaming.

If this charade has done anything...it's shown us the depth and extent of bigotry in this country. This was never about race...this was about bigots who wanted it to be about race. It's a really sad testament of just how mentally depraved our society has become imo.

I tend to be a centrist on these issues ... call me a "realist". I would like to believe that everything is all well and good but this exercise in justice just shows how little has been accomplished and how much more needs to be done to fix things in our families, our communities and our country.

Hopefully this thread can die now.

http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news...an-wife-shellie-plea-20130828,0,3608738.story

SANFORD – Shellie Zimmerman, the wife of acquitted murder suspect George Zimmerman, pleaded guilty this morning to a less-serious form of perjury in a deal that will require her to serve one year of probation.

Circuit Judge Marlene Alva accepted the plea during a brief hearing at the Seminole County criminal courthouse in Sanford.

It was a negotiated deal, designed to avoid a felony conviction. The 26-year-old was a nursing student nearly done with her schooling at the time of her arrest. Had she been found guilty of a felony — the perjury charge she was facing — she would have been banned from applying to become a nurse for three years.

The deal also requires her to write a letter of apology to Circuit Judge Kenneth Lester Jr., the judge to whom she was accused of lying, and to serve 100 hours of community service.

yeah and i hope he gets it. this case should NEVER been brought.

They were talking about this on NPR this morning. Angela Corey's office decline to speak with the press with it and said they would only address the issue in court.

That entire crew is just disgusting. I still can't believe how they publicly talked about a 'murderer going free' and all that crap.

I think she got railroaded on that based off the transcripts of what was asked for her.

I'm just surprised that Guy pleaded her down to a misdemeanor. I would've thought they'd try to extract their pound of flesh from her since they didn't get it from him.

Not me, I think she took the plea deal because it ends up a "slap" on the wrist in comparison to what would have happened had this gone to trial. Had it gone to trial, she would have been found innocent in my opinion, and probably hers too, but the cost incurred may have pushed the Zimmerman's over the limit. Meaning the cost of innocence at that point would have been worse than the cost of accepting guilt. Strange as that sounds.

Yes, I understand why she took it. I'm surprised they offered it.

Why aren't they going after Rachel Jeantel for admitting under oath that she committed perjury? I guess that would be "racist."

I don't disagree there is justification for your view, but interestingly she does not feel this way - she says she knew she was lying - http://www.hlntv.com/article/2013/08/29/george-zimmermans-wife-our-marriage-jeopardy?hpt=hp_t2

“I can rationalize a lot of reasons for why I was misleading, but the truth is I knew I was lying,” Zimmerman said in the interview with ABC. “I wish a lot things were different. I can’t tell you how many times I have laid at night saying 'God, I wish these circumstances had been different.'”

Not telling the truth or whole truth is not the same as telling a lie. Some people feel that way, and I sure she probably does. Many feel guilty for doing so. Nothing in her transcript was a lie. Could some of it have been construed as misleading by trying to get the court to seek the information someone else that wasn't readily at hand? Sure, but again that's not lying.

Truth is she's a good person with a overactive conscience that made her feel guilty for an action that really was not what she thought it was. Happens to good people all the time when they are doing something they morally feel is "grey" to them.
