Just my opinion but O'Mara's tactics so far speak to the weakness of Zimmerman's actual defense.

A lot of what he spends his time doing is trying everything he can think of to create grounds to have a guilty verdict overturned on appeal.

Hardly indicative of a "slam dunk" case for the defense.

For instance, he's not necessarily really wanting more time, he wants a record where the judge denies him more time.

He knows his request for sanctions against the prosecution is BS but its another possible grounds for appeal when the judge dismisses his request.

I agree. Did the judge rule on the sanctions? I was surprised O'mara didn't have a strong answer to the standard of procedural harm for his sanctions motion.

I think a lot of you are watching the hearings with blinders on. BDLR was being snippy, but West was being very unresponsive in his answers as evidenced by the number of times the judge sided with BDLR.

Also, I think the defense asked Zimmerman to gain weight or is ok with the wright gain. Makes him look less threatening, I believe. I don't see any other reason for all the weight gain.

If the prosecution's case was so strong there would have been a plea deal long ago.

There's no reason to make a plea deal until push comes to shove.

I still think its the most likely outcome.

btw, what I said about the defense case doesn't mean I think the prosecution's case is strong. I think its very much up to the jury/judge to decide.

But the defense has a lot more at stake so more motivation to leave no stone unturned.

I do not think the defense has a weak defense at all. in fact i think they have a very very strong one.
