I felt in the mood for UT2k3, I've been playing it for a while with no problem. Knowing UT2k3 has some issues with the new beta 40.41's, I wanted to see if there was a performance difference between the 40.41s and the 30.82s.
So I install the 30.82s, after doing so, I reboot. Upon finishing loading windows, just before it loads my desktop (auto-login), the computer just crashes hard, most of the time, no mouse cursor, sometimes a frozen mouse cursor.
Booted into safemode, uninstalled drivers, rebooted into Normal Windows just fine, installed drivers once again, reboot, still hangs before desktop. I try it one more time, same result.
Go back into Safe mode, uninstall drivers, reboot back into normal windows, and reinstall my 40.41s still on the HD. Successful boot.
Here I am posting now, and unable to play because I have to sleep now.
Wanting to get the rig running in "operational order", to run SETI during the night, and decided to ask here before I go to bed...
Why can't I change from 40.41s -> 30.32s?
I don't think its a problem with RivaTuner, as I have changed drivers with it before.
Thanks.
EDIT: Rig is in sig if you need specs.
