Now before everybody starts commenting about bad Ultra PSU models, there were issues with First Gen Ultra X-Connects (Ultra does not make the PSU and used seperate manufacturers for the X-Connect and X-Finity models of which only the X-Connects had the quality issues, and which has since been solved by contracting another manufacturer for the X-Connects).

The only issue that I have heard with this model has been a noisy/faulty fan. So far I havent had this problem, mine is running very quietly.

If you register the PSU you get lifetime warranty and Ultra is pretty good on their RMA program and will often cross-ship or advance ship you a replacement.

So far Onrebate has been quick in responding to may application, they sent me a recieved email saying they got the UPC and form...

I made a copy of that with the UPC attached, so I hope no fishy business.

If you want to give them I think 3 bucks you can get your rebate in like 3-5 days, but I am not that needy for my $30 rebate...

From what I was able to gather from various posts about OnRebate submissions, you just need to make copies of everything and follow their directions very carefully. Like they require you to print out a mailing label and use it (they will not accept their address being handwritten on the envelope). The upc code has to be attached (stapled or glued or taped) to one of the rebate forms, it cant be loosely placed in the envelope. And last bit of advice was to include a copy of all invoice/receipts as well as the packing slip.

If you follow their directions carefully you should have no issues with the rebate being approved. Mine was approved quickly, however, I can't comment on actually receiving the payment yet, as mine hasnt reached the 8-10 week waiting/payout period.

sorry just bored. Got in the earlier RS deal for a build.

Getting really leary of Ultra products though, seems just about everything from this company is FAR or damn cheap. After I got a case and psu then saw memory and a sd card for $9 ar each, I'm wondering if they will be in business. FWIW

I ordered one of these from RadioShack a while back when it was on sale. The fan did not work, so I sent it back and am waiting for the replacement.

Great, this is an awsome PSU, even if it was only able to be gotten for upwards of $50 after rebates. Thanks OP.

Got one for $4.99AR as well. I already have the invoice # I'm wondering if I should claim the rebate now doing the online program or wait till the psu gets here.

You sound like you're looking for someone to tell you what to do.

It doesn't matter when you fill out the on-line form, you still have to send in the UPC. Just make sure it works before removing the UPC otherwise you'll have to send it back to the manufacturer (I doubt outpost will take it back without a UPC). Mine (like many) had a bad fan.

OK. Let me clear things up a bit. OPs original deal is Outpost #: 4548657Ultra X-Finity 500W Black finish $59.99 -$50 rebate expires 9-03-06.

The other deal is Outpost #: 4952601Ultra X-Finity 500W Titanium finish $54.99 -$50 rebate expires 8-31-06.

I bought the titanium one for $54.99.

Either way you can't go wrong.

Based on the review I read from the other thread on this PS (review), my big question is whether they've done anything about the cooling and noise issues that the review talks about when the load is above 150-200W? If it really runs as hot and as loud as that review indicates when at only half load (or less), I'm not sure that I'd be happy with it, even at this price...

35 dBa is pretty loud if you're used to a stock system or you're overclocking with water or quiet 120mm fans.
