I thought scientists weren't able to figure out what the 1918 flu was because all the samples had degraded in the decades before the technology came about to look at them. 😕
Sucks that doctor visits are expensive.
Heh, I pay $0 for doctor visits but haven't gone to a doc in the past two years. Guess I better hope it stays that way 😀
I think they were able to obtain the entire genetic sequence from a permafrost grave?
Insist on Relenza (zanamivir), if you can tolerate it. Its an inhaled powder that can trigger or worsen asthma attacks and bronchospasms in people with existing lung/pulmonary illness or chronic conditions. There have been no confirmed reports of any influenza virus developing resistance to Relenza. The cases at SMU in Dallas were highly resistant to Tamiflu as well.
Why hasn't it been mentioned... I'm guessing that its because of the over a million infected there less then 400 have died from it.
And the Spanish flu only had like a 2.5% fatality rate as it was so again nothing to worry about here unless elderly or already sick.
This isn't correct, there were high mortality rates in the young otherwise healthy adult population.
Healthy isn't what I would call someone whos immune system overreacts but maybe thats just me...
