I feel fine. I've been going to work the whole time, and I don't have a fever or anything. Physically, I feel fine, except for the faucet stuck in the on position attached to my large intestine.

Spoiled milk will not cause you to get sick if it had been properly refrigerated and pasteurized.

There's a difference between food spoilage bacteria that cause foul smells, lumps and gas production, and pathogens that are the bacteria that produce food poisoning. Of the pathogens, there are two types: first are those that multiply in the food and produce toxins, it's consumption of these toxins that make you ill. Problem is, they don't normally alter the taste, smell or texture of the food.
The other type of pathogens only produce their toxins once ingested. For the former, the onset of symptoms is rapid, of the order of 2-6 hours. For the latter, it can take anything up to 72 hours before symptoms show. Starting off with aches and pains suggests there may have been some of the second type present, in which case stand by!
It's a bit the same when it comes to getting rid of them; with the first type, since the poisoning is caused by ingested toxins the natural 'processes' that kick in soon get rid of the toxin so you're fine within 24 hours. However, for the second case, as it's bacteria in the gut that are producing toxins as they multiply, they take a lot longer to shift, can be weeks.

^ listen to him. most food poisoning is from opportunistic pathogens...cross contamination etc on food u think is ok. it has no taste or smell. normal spoilage bacteria out produce pathogens any day. just make the food ick.

Not the best choice, too much sugar. Best is some rehydration salts, something like Dioralyte: http://www.westons.com/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_Dioralyte_2113.html , these are very good at keeping you alive while you have serious food poisoning. Don't worry about eating, you'll go a long time without food; dehydration is the biggest risk through fluid loss.

lol.....

If you drank spoiled milk, you would know it with every excruciatingly foul bite.

Besides, sour milk shouldn't make you sick, unless maybe it has spoiled because it sat at room temps for extended periods of time...

Edit: Reading your symtpoms.. wow, that's really weird. I had exactly the same thing happen to me a few weeks ago. I felt perfectly fine, but any trip to the bathroom was ... violently intense.

It lasted about 4 days.. I figured I must've eaten something, but couldn't figure out what..

I disagree. If I have milk out of date, or ice cream that has sat out I get mega cramps and the runs.

I had food poisoning once.

I began feeling extremely tired and weak. I went home to lay down. I developed a severe stomach ache, and then nausea set in. I ran to the bathroom, but didn't make it. I vomitted the most violently I have ever experienced. In fact, it was so violent I tore the fleshy join between my esophogus and stomach. After seeing blood in my puke I called my GF to take me to the ER (this was during the Norwalk Virus).

They shot me in the buttox with Gravol, tested my blood, and let me sleep for a few hours.

Took a couple days to recover.

I had something very similar, except I didn't rip anything. I was in the hospital for a couple of days too, but because my intestines were extremely inflamed, and I was very close to complete dehydration. I had to eat so many popsicles, drink so much apple juice, and have so many IVs over the next 2-3 days before they would release me. To this day I'm still not sure what happened, but it was certainly pain on the 10 level, and they did give me a strong opiate in an IV.

If you ever get true food poisoning go ahead an grab a bucket and sit on the toilet . That way you have both ends covered and you won't sh!t yourself while throwing up because that is all you thought you had to do. It sucks.

I'd imagine it could effect everyone a little differnetly, but pathologically speaking.. it shouldn't make you sick unless it was contaminated.

Once when I was sick(my nose was stuffed up and my taste was way off), I drank 3 or 4 huge gulps(probably a full cup) out of a carton of spoiled milk. It was not opened, I just grabbed it, opened and started drinking. I didn't realize it until it was too late, and even then.. my sense of taste was so screwed up, I could barely tell that it was spoiled...

I dumped it out in the sink.. it was all clumpy and nasty..

I didn't even notice anything from it.. heh

I had bad milk before. It feels like you have a rock in the belly, and there's a persist dull pain. Perhaps after 3-4 hours after. So it was too late to puke it back up and too early to take a dump.

Milk spoilage is caused by Pseudomonas which does not make you sick. If the milk, however, was temperature abused or improperly pasteurized there is the possibility of getting sick.

Temperature abuse is more than likely what it was.
