Don't be so quick to judge people as lazy, there may be a medical reason.

On weekends I frequently sleep for 12+ hours, no matter how much I sleep I never feel rested.

Last night I had a sleep test done at a local hospital, my blood oxygen levels were repeatedly dropping below normal ranges causing me to partially wake. I was never reaching REM sleep. I spent the second half of the night with a CPAP machine, & my oxygen levels stayed in normal ranges.

I'll be sleeping from now on (well, whenever I get my machine) with a mask, hopefully now I'll be able to get proper sleep. I've essentially spent the last 5 years perpetually sleep deprived, it had nothing to do with being lazy.

Viper GTS

How much do those machines run? Does insurance cover any of it? What do you tell them you want to get tested for if you go in for something like that?

I was supposed to meet her for lunch on my break, but I don't think that's going to happen because she still hasn't managed to get out of bed. Oh well.

i think you need to can it, bitch. who are you to say how much sleep she needs? if i were her and had a boyfriend who was such an ass that he thought he should be able to dictate how much sleep i get, you'd be history.

<--- sleeps till noon every day too. 😉

boo freakin' hoo, be a man and teach her a lesson geez. Are you the man in the relationship or are you the girl (ie you come on to ATOT and rant how lazy your sig. other is).

Ride the boner coaster to tuna town.... Should be a nice wakeup call 😀

lol at this thread.. good stuff.
my gf likes to sleep in but she gets up whenever she has to, so she usually ends up getting up fairly early. but if there's no reason to get up ... she will easily sleep through to lunch 😛

There's something wrong with someone who sleeps 12 hours a night. Life's too precious and scarce to be unconcious for half of it! I'm not claiming ot have the best sleep schedule (about 5 hours/night), but I firmly believe that 8 hours is the most anyone should get. Anything more is depressoin or something. The extra 4 hours per day she's sleeping is 28 hours/week. That's more than a day per week she could be spending doing something productive. If she's not getting straight A's, then more studying. Whatever, just do something.

Teach her a lesson? What the hell are you talking about? How is teaching her a lesson making me the man in the relationship?

well you're obviously ranting about her sleeping 12 hours a day, if you feel that that isn't right then teach her a lesson sheeesh... Now you're supposed to meet her for lunch and that won't happen because she still hasn't waken up? That obviously bothers you.

Just because someone sleeps 10-12 hours a night does not necessarily mean something is wrong with them.

While the "standard" 8 hours of sleep is generally the benchmark for a good night's rest, there are both people who need significantly more and significantly less sleep to function correctly. This is not always the sign of illness, it's just what their body needs.

For example, Einstein required 12-14 hours of sleep per night. There is currently a documented case of a woman who functions perfectly after just 1 or 2 hours of sleep.

However, if after 12 hours one doesn't feel rested, that is definitely a sign of a problem. It could be sleep apnea as ViperGTS indicated he probably has and a CPAP machine usually fixes the problem.

Also, sleep apnea is more likely to occur in the very overweight. So maybe your g/f needs to lose a couple hundred pounds.

She's not even close to overweight. Maybe 125 lbs.

jeeze man quit whining. she is what she is, deal or dump

If it was me, I'd dump. That's just too much sleep and the kind of resentment you are apparently feeling is not good for you and it ain't gonna' go away. I'd move on.

I have to say that with over 6 billion people in the world, I really don't understand why you folks talk about your girlfriends as if there are no other more suitable women on the earth.

Really, that is her only fault I have problems with. I love her to death. She has stuff she bitches about me about too, doesn't mean we don't love each other. When you are in a relationship with someone, there are bound to be things you disagree about, or don't like.

Only reason I posted about it on here is, it just gives a little place to vent about things. No biggie.

everybody has a different sleep pattern. if i don't get 12 hours of consecutive sleep i will take a nap in the afternoon to compensate for it.

i get plenty of exercise and eat properly too, its just what my body tells me it needs.
