You folks shirking your jury duty should be ashamed of yourselves. I served two years ago on a jury in a child molestation case and despite HUGE amounts of evidence proving the defendants guilt he almost walked because 2/3 of the jurors were idiots. Some jurors just made up shit in their minds, ignoring the facts of the trial and the judges instructions.

If you have half a brain then the next jury you are asked to serve on could really use you.

I like how i'm 21 years old and this is my 2nd time here. I wonder if I'll be like those people who get called every year. 🙁

Hey at least I get my $9!

(At least Popeye's Chicken was across the street for lunch.)

You dont say?

I do say, kind sir. Nom nom nom!

Best fast food chicken on a Tuesday, evah!

My jury experience was fantastic. I was juror #1 called out of all of the hundreds that showed up, so I didn't have to sit around waiting. I was picked for the trial, which was a medical malpractice case that lasted a full week, for which work compensated me fully. The trial would start at 9:30, end at 4:30, with an hour lunch break and several 15 minute breaks throughout the day. It was basically a vacation.

Could be worse. You could do jury duty and be selected to a Criminal trial at THIS location for four (4) weeks.

HA that's where I served as well.

I got called for jury duty 3 years ago. Murder trial. I got through 2 days but on the 3rd day I was late 10 minutes and they let me go. I was happy about that.

One bad thing is that even though you could be working full time, some employers don't pay any or sometimes just a day or two of being in jury duty.

I got saddled for six weeks in a civil court trial when some greedy fuck tried to sue Ford for $100 million. One funny thing was Ford actually managed to get a truck cab into the court room. They cut the darn thing up and reassembled it overnight. Only positive thing was I made $500(my employer pays your full salary while your there and you get to keep the jury pay)

Is there a worse way to spend the day?

You sound like a douche.

I'm 19 and have never been called. My dad is 61 and has never been called. My mom and both my brothers have been called multiple times, though.

One easy way to get out of jury duty is to:

Wave or wink at the defendant like you know him. As soon at the opposing attorney sees this, they will have you removed from the Jury. They can't take a chance on have a friend on the jury. I always get out of jury duty this way.

Really? I might have to try this...
